Did you try inserting the peg from the other side first?
So how many books are in your personal library?

    I did not.
The first one I did was very tight, but it did go in.
I was trying to force this one in by pressing down on the base onto the table and SNAP!
    I super glued it.
The rest I have been checking the pegs first as some go in perfect.
I like them a lot and I plan to purchase more.

Pegs are very slightly tapered Mike, should insert from bottom of base and be firm when flush.

wow! never seen this happen before!!! sadly, the pegs can vary in size a bit, i suspect due to cooling fluctuations. you just have to be careful.

I had one do that to me. Shocked the hell at of me when it happened. Now I test fit all of my bases.

It hasn't happened to me, yet!

I'll be more careful from now on - thanks for the warning.
I laugh in the face of danger - then I hide until it goes away!
