Thread: Ouch!

    Default Ouch!

A replica BE2 from the Great War Display Team has crashed while rehearsing their routine. Fortunately the pilot escaped with a few cracked ribs and cuts and bruises (and an urgent need of a change of underwear...).

BBC has footage of the BE going in, but I can't find the link.

    Ooooh, no!

Terrible shame about the BE, but I'm glad the pilot is (relatively) OK.

Whoah ! That was a rather steep angle of descent ..... think I could caption that easily enough... Now, out of A&E and straight down the shop to buy a lottery ticket...

They may have found the cause...

    Considering the angle of approach...

I expected it to be far worse than even this.

Looked like a classic stall and spin. The pilot was very lucky.

I am glad that the pilot survived particularly considering the angle of that dive.

    Thumbs up

Yes great news that the pilot had relatively minor injuries considering the crash angle!

Glad the pilots’s ok. From the pictures I would have guessed he wouldn’t have survived that crash. I wonder if a crash like that would have been survivable in a modern plane like a Cessna?
