Nice. I like the green and mauve one the best. Nice effect on the fuselage.

I have three RAF D.IIIs that I got to prime this winter but never applied any paint to. Must get to these soon.

How's about a printout of the image on Clipper's "Aerodrome Engineer" banner?

Just the picture of the Zep at night, penetrating the clouds?

The decals were in good condition but still needed some touch up as well as the stripes (cleaning was not enough). The major update was the repaint of the olive to the actual Navy Blue on the Bald Eagle. I am not sure why Dad used the olive, other than it may have looked that way on the kit box. Note the Malcolm Hood canopy prefered by many P51 pilots over the later bubble canopy of the P51Ds.

Perhaps this will tickle your fancy. The Royal Navy converted at least two freighters into observation balloon ships used in the Gallipoli campaign. They were used for artillery spotting and were quite effective.

You also need to track down a copy of 'Gallipoli Air War, The unknown story of the fight for the skies over Gallipoli' by Hugh Dolan!

Well, here are a couple of quick scans from the photo section to keep you going - my apologies for the quality but it is hard to get a thick paperback to lie flat on the scanner without ruining the binding.

Still lots of nice stuff out there.
Been busy around here again between the land war with the neighbor and blew up my computer last week. Had to go out and get a new Win 10 one (). Ok comp problem fixed but then the bad part....sigh.... I can play World of Tanks again after over a year off. My last system was A Vista one I bought in early 2008 so last July they killed the ability to play. Now it works again and Quite well so my 35K game account is working again. Needless to say painting time has suffered...a bit.

But have gotten some stuff done.

I know the feeling. I got a new Windows 10 rig and tried WoT only to find they have changed it drastically again.
My stash of Tool Kits, camo nets and periscopes now need to be 'repurchased' as they have different classes. The Tool Kit seems to have been replaced altogether.

This month has been a big IJN push. Still have lots of weathering, panel lining, and a few more decals to do on this group. I think I’ll go for smaller projects in the future. When I have so many models in progress, I feel like I have to get them all done. When done, I’ll put better pix in the Painting showcase.

Fully understand Pete, Had like 80 or 90 fully tricked out vehicles I will slowly have to adjust. Good thing is when I last played I had been saving credits at a mad rate, had over 32 million creds stocked and 40 extra garage slots on top of 80 plus full ones. (yeh, have a TOG, Tiger 131, and the tier 5 French arty on the Char B chassis)
Noticed they had also canned most of the tier 3 and lower vehicles and dumped them in a "collectors" spot so grabbed a half dozen back the other night.
Keep in mind I had over 35K games over a 8 year period. Does sort of make up for lost tabletop time with everything still closed down and the bug starting wave 2 as winter comes in.

Thanks guys. I hope to be putting better pix of the Nells in the painting showcase this weekend. I’m trying to decide if I want to do the panel lines on the zeroes. They look cool, but are not realistic. When I look at period pictures, you just don’t see them. I do the lines on bombers all the time because it gives the larger models a more three dimensional look. On fighters, it doesn’t help as much. What do you guys think? To panel line, or not to panel line? That is the question!

You could always do the lining with a color of less contrast if you wanted to split the difference, e.g. medium gray on light gray.
