Imagine the outrage of the crew of the Hood, had they fallen victim to a mere "pocket" battleship.
Just a great big target. Nothing is indestructible.
Yes, Dan, we know that nowadays but that is largely because of what happened in World War 2. At the time when the Bismark entered service, the majority of people held a different view.
IMHO HMS Hood was one of the most beautiful ships afloat and what a shame she went down like that.
