Thread: DR.1 for T&T Print & Play

    Default DR.1 for T&T Print & Play

So, I had watched Little Wars TV’s Wings of Glory “Death of the Red Baron” game on YouTube, and then stumbled across the fact that T&T existed, and with my steampunk heart set aflutter was immediately ordering a box. Not willing to wait, I printed off the Red Baron DR.1 cards from the Ares downloads page, and gathered up several paper models of same to rescale and try building. I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out, and am planning a whole flight of DR.1s with a photoshopped “Allied Air Command” scheme to take on the Martians. My wife and I finally played tonight, and her tripod had Red Baron for dinner. We’re both hooked on the game!

I'll second that (on both counts)

I'm thinking you didn't go through the issues I had with my paper planes. Yours looks very nice.

I dunno, Mike, yours look pretty darn good from where I sit.

I have enough trouble with tuck boxes ...

Mike, yours is definitely more “scale” than my “game piece!” I used 1/16” basswood for the struts, for the sake of durability.

Here’s another view of mine, next to the Nieuport from the T&T set. The spinning prop is some clear packaging with gesso streaks painted on.

Now all I need to add is a pilot, which I decided will be the pizza baron’s image.

    Ian, welcome the Aerodrome.

The model looks awesome! I have to admit, T&T got me hooked. Now I am another Wings of Glory Addict! The tripods are a blast to use.

Agreed, the paper plane that Rainsford has done is wonderful. Looks better than some of my paint jobs. I love the moving propeller graphic. Really adds some pop to the model.

Really great work on your Triplane, and I can mentally visualize The Baron tuning in his cockpit and taking on his alien captor with his Mauser C96!
