Looks pretty tasty for hospital food, Tim.
Sorry you have to work today, though I have had many friends and relations needing to do so.
Please accept my best wishes, and a toast to you, and all those others.
that work today, so the rest of us can be safer.
BTW: I decided to splurge, and get a hunk of lamb for myself. A bit much for one, but I haven't had any for years.
Merry Christmas.

Thanks Karl!
Hope you have the best Christmas you can.
I, too, splurged on lamb a couple of days ago.
I went to my local 'Tesco' store and they were selling whole leg of lamb at 50% off - it would have been rude to decline!
Having loaded one into my trolley, I then found some others which were reaching their "Best Before" date the following day, and were offered @ 80% off!
So, I froze one, and cooked the "Best Before" one the following evening as a kind of early Christmas Dinner.
And very tasty it was, too!

OK. We are hoping to have some of the family over for dinner this evening. The first 'large' gathering since Christmas 2019. Everyone is double vaxxed, and most have had the flu shot.
Do I post a picture of that, now that I know what the heroes are having?
I'll have to clear two driveways off before they can get into the house, sometime this afternoon, so I will be 'working' today. Not doing essential work like Tim and others. Been there and done that a few years ago, guarding freedom.
As Karl expressed above, thanks to all the people working in essential services, keeping us healthy, safe and making our celebrations possible.

Blimey Tim, did you all play a game of 'guess the vegetable'? If its any consolation my daughter put on a slap-up delicious dinner for both sets of parents. Anyways, thanks for standing on the front-line, and I wish you several large brandies when you get off work.

Brave man taking that on Tim, at least you had a meal provided ~ keep up the good work !

A salute for your extra efforts, Tim.
(and jealous of your score on the lamb)
It wasn't bad, actually - much better than last year!
Also, we had "deliveries" from the Catering Dept., Cardiology, Renal Services and the Hospital Trust (a hamper to share out).
I had to take my share home, owing to a lack of time to enjoy them whilst at work, but I was happy to receive them.

Looks tasty, Dom. Is it a meatpie?

It was what he calls "Christmas Pie" - leftovers from Christmas dinner, with all the trimmings, all shoved in a pie!
