Default Structural Capabilities of a plane

    Good day everybody,

a couple of days ago I was reading through some first hand accounts and I found that it wasn't only manoeuvrability and climb rate that was important, a stable dive also tended to be a good option for escaping an opponent and Balloon busting as well. I was wondering if we could develop a system where different planes have different diving "endurance's".
I have two questions to put to you:

    - do you think that taking the damage points as the main factor for structural strength or are there other things that you have to take into consideration (wing shape for example).

    - how would you go about representing it with the manoeuvre cards that we have to hand (my thought was a prolonged dive of some sort, maybe straights or stalls)

    Love to hear your thoughts

    Cheers Alex

We have the over-dive already to lose two levels of altitude Alex - you may be able to extend on that with repeating dive/straight cards - basing the number of times it can be done on the aircraft's given strength and any known history (like weak sesquiplanes).

some of that is already built into the game via some maneuvers being stressful so you cant do them right before or after other stressful ones and with missing maneuvers altogether. this is why some decks have 3 sideslips in each direction while others dont. it always amazes me the "legwork" put into the development of this game to make its mechanics so elegantly simple.
