Best wishes to all of you, U.S. Forumers!
I have listened to a local radio station podcast today in the morning about the Declaration of Independence and how important to the XVIII century human civilisation it was.
The day it was published (by the way it had been signed 2 days before the date and then just edited) the world was dominated by monarchies with one - just one exception: The Swiss Republic in the Alps, it meant - in the middle of nowhere. So to declare an independence from the world class British empire and it's King was a real thing we really tend to underestimate nowadays.
So - a drink for the brave and the future makers of the 4th of July!
