Yeah, this paulc9384 has been selling off an impressive collection. The day one chunk ends, he lists another chunk. Much sought after stuff. Starting to see some repaints as Camelbeagle pointed out. I think I would have enjoyed seeing his collection.

I agree Jeff. He has had a Lot of pieces that dozens of people are looking for. The repaints that are on their right now are quite nice.

I was able to get one of the Yellow WWI Ballon sets off of him 2 weeks ago. Glad I did too, because the current one he has up is a bit more than I won it for!

Another chunk of his collection listed on eBay today. That’s at least four Sundays in a row now.

I managed to buy all three of the SPAD VII’s tonight, so more late Christmas presents for me... I’m a bad man.

Cool, good grab with the Spad VII. Those are nice planes to fly. I am eyeballing a couple this round. This guy must have really been a hard core player. He just keeps listing more and more good stuff.

There is a Coast Game Mat + a 109 on UK ebay and on Amazon at a very good price. Same repeat items! Beware, this idiot thinks Game Mat Coast is the brand name so I only received the 109. I'm currently fighting for a refund.

Ach, you got those! I needed the Guynemer & 23 Squadron SPADs... alas. Anyway enjoy!

I broke my budget rule for the Pfalz D.III and bagged one of the custom Kleins, the black & white one. I would have preferred the red Klein but the B&W auction expired first and I didn't want to chance getting caught up in a bidding war and losing out on either of them. The seller told me some Aussie painted them both, he/she did a fantastic job with both planes!

I also needed two of the three Albatros D.IIs but someone paid WAY more than I was willing to dish out for them. $126+ for both planes not including tax & shipping? Madness.

Just wasn’t willing to spend $80 (Yeah, I count shipping costs in) on a single Caproni. Spending the money saved on my next Shapeways order (which I’m about to press the button on with a last minute check. But congrats to those that got them!

I bagged the La Guardia & Buttini Capronis, the SPAD XIII Madon and the SPAD VII Guynemer and lost on all the other auctions. I definitely suffered from a bout of 'gimme!' and overextended on the SPADs, particularly with regard to the Guynemer which, given the pace of series reprints and the popularity of the pilot and that paint scheme, I suspect will be reissued sometime in 2022. I was caught off guard when bidding drove the Madon up to $37 but that is the only one I've spotted in the wild since I started collecting!

This latest round was particularly painful. I'm seriously considering going the Shapeways/3D printing route.

On a final note someone REALLY wanted that Collishaw Triplane. $102.50 not including shipping & tax?!? Sheer madness!!! What is this guy gonna do if they wind up reprinting this same plane in 2 years' time?

Holy Cow Batman! That is alot for a triplane!!!!! I thought about trying for the Siemens, but they went way out of what I wanted to pay.

Spino, congrats on the scores. I am amazed how hard the Caproni and Gotha are to get. Really nice planes!!!! That is the first Madon I have seen in a long long time. Guynemer just keeps ca$hing in!

Hope you get them to the table and have fun!

Spino, glad you bagged your Guynemer SPAD!

I got the Little triplane but gave up on the Collishaw when it went into triple digits. Another day perhaps. I wasn't interested in the Dallas triplane as they are ugly enough without that paint job
OH! No offense Sopwith triplane fans. They are a very important piece of WWI aviation history and I need a couple in my collection. Even if they are homely.

Andrzej, I'm not in on the triplane joke, but if there is someone out there wanting to sell a Collishaw Sopwith Triplane... PM me

OK, that's damn funny. Teaticket told me the same. Sorry I stepped in that tri-cow-pie.

Boney10 - we've never met, but no need to get your blood pressure up. I'll go ahead and disparage the Ares Sopwith Triplane on your behalf.

It only faintly resembles the actual aircraft, the way an oil derrick resembles the Eiffel Tower. Wait, that's not strong enough... the way my grandchild's crayon drawing, taped the refrigerator, resembles a Pablo Picasso... no wait, that actually does sort of look like a Picasso.... I'm getting off track here.

The Ares Sopwith Triplane wings are too close together. Frankly, the whole thing is disproportionate. It should only ever (grudgingly) be considered a game piece that in no way embodies the spirit of the real triplane and is only worthy of being shot down by real Ares models... with extreme prejudice. It should never be considered worthy of a repaint. And if you willingly choose to play a game with it, you should be forced to wear a mask... wait, we all have to wear... you should be forced to draw from a special damage deck with extra boom cards, so other players won't have to look at the hideous, mock triplane for too long!

    I still want one.

The WoG Tripe is really the most failed plane in this game. I have bought Shapeway replacements, to spare my eyes, but can't get rid of the three originals because the collector in me is reluctant.

My personal top 3 of the most failed WoG planes are:

    1. Sopwith Triplane
    2. Albatros D.V
    3. Albatros D.III

All three are actually very elegant planes, but the WoG interpretations look very abstract.

Don't worry. We're here to help make your addiction fun. For example, wouldn't gambling addiction hot lines be more fun if every tenth caller was a winner? That's the kind of help you can look forward to from us. We've got your back.
