Thread: Colour scheme help

    Default Colour scheme help

Slowly clearing a backlog of plane painting for WGS, only another 200-odd to go....

Has anybody got a pic or illustrations of Fiesler Storches in North-West Europe around the time of the D-Day invasion. I've got plenty of pics of them in Russia and North Africa, but haven't anything on NW Europe. So, rather than waiting for Osprey to publish their "Fiesler Storch Aces of WW2" I turn to the collective wisdom of you lot

Not sure if this is what you're looking for but there are some nice views of them on the tube.

Nice vedios. I know that is at the MAM in Va Beach. He sold the Storch a few years ago but I did get to see it fly one year.

It is from this website. https://www.ww2incolor.com/german-ai...SASSO-COL.html

I do not know whether it is a black & white photograph that has been coloured.

Thanks for the input, unfortunately so far these are Russian Front, N. Africa or the Mediterranean.

Apparantly not Musso's Storch, Dave. Exhibit A M'Lud, taken in 2006 in the Finnish Aviation Museum in Vantaa.

This was one of only two purchased by the Finnish A.F., delivered in May 1939. It is also the only Storch exhibited in Finland. Originally given the serial ST-112, then OH-VSF when civilianised, then OH-FSA by it's last owner.

However, you did remind me that I have this, taken in the Vienna Army Museum in 2005:

At least it gives me some codes, and the paintwork would be standard 2-tone green.

This is a Youtube video about the Storch in the Finnish museum and according to the video, it is not the actual one that rescued Mussolini, Dave.

4 pages, and yes most are Ostfront or DAK, but a few are not.
