NOOOOOOO! I just bid on a couple of the sets. I think we should contact him and ask if we can buy directly.

Would be the sensible thing to do!

I sent a message. I would recommend others do the same so there is no doubt that several of use are interested and that we communicate.

I think I just out bid you! Sorry, didn't know it was you. I want Jasta 18 more so I will withdrawal my Jasta 40 bid.

I just sent a message asking if he will sell direct.

I REALLY want a J18 set but won't get into a bidding war with you for it.

    Steady on, chaps!

It wouldn't surprise me at all if he agrees to direct sales to us "specialists" - he's always been a thoroughly good egg in my past dealings with him.

Lets see what he comes back with. I believe we both send him a message.

I received a nice reply to my inquiry from Larry. Seems these are the last of his decals. He no longer makes decals as his new computer (Windows 7) is not compatible with his decal printer. He said he was surprised at the interest in the decals and will look into getting a cheap XP computer. Fingers crossed that he will get back in the decal game again.

I'm surprised he couldn't find a driver to work with windows 7.

I got a very nice and polite response as well. The only thing he has duplicates of is the Jasta 13.

All his sets are great - bear in mind that the broomstick on the Jasta 13 sheet is, however, Hans Besser of Jasta 12!

I would be interested in these too, but don't want to get into bidding war with anyone just for a set of decals.

I also sent Larry an email expressing interest in his decals. He sent a nice response and was very surprised at the level of interest from the Drome. He is considering trying to get some more into production, but has to solve a Win XP compatibility issue.

I've been chatting to Larry, and he is sourcing the required refurbished XP machine to enable a resumption of decal production

He was surprised by the level of interest from the 'Drome, and hopes to be able to supply our needs. The final prices on this last batch of decals was higher than he expected, so the funding of the replacement machine was reached!

Hope you guys got what you wanted............if not, there may yet be hope.

This is great news. In our email exchange he was leaning to getting back to producing decals because of the interest with what he put on ebay. Very good as I was out bid so ended up empty handed.

I’ll be waiting to buy some of everything and everything Jasta 18! Such great news!

Outbid here as well. Those decals went for a lot more than I would have expected. I will gladly buy several sets from him. They looked like very nice decals.

    Me too and him too!

Some of 'em went for 4 times what I paid 3 years ago.

The links in that thread are not working. Must be too old as those ebay auctions are long gone.

I just wanted to let people know that there are 1/144 decals for sale on eBay. The seller is hurricane2plane. I think this is Larry Gill but I'm not sure.
The decals available are Fokker D.VII Jasta 13, 18, and 40. Albatros D.V Jasta 26 and 18. There are 3 sets of each Jasta, less the ones I purchased.

    Yes, that's Larry!

I have multiples of all these sets, and can highly recommend them.

Thanks for flagging it up, Tom!

Digidecals is indeed Larry and the decals are quite nice. Several are already sold, but if you "contact seller" via eBay, I'd be willing to bet he would print you some for an agreed upon price. He prints up some batches periodically to help pay for his printer cartridges needed for new projects. He shared with me he is rather happy with the Spitfire decal set he made for someone on this forum. I don't play WWII yet, but they look very nice!

Well, they sold out in less than 6 hours, then!

They weren't listed @ 11:00 when I was surfing ebay.

There was also a Digidecals based in Australia, which is no longer trading.
All internet searches I ever did flagged up this one.

I don't think that Larry ever registered as "Digidecals", so perhaps that's why he never showed up in searches?

You are correct. He just marks them as Digidecals on each sheet. He just does eBay sales now so he doesn’t have an online presence.

Last year, I was able to contact him to buy 2 sheets of everything he makes for WWI.

I learned from you, Tim, that you can never have too many decals! I’ve bought almost everything that Kevin makes at MiscMini too. Decals are inexpensive and you never know how you might be able to repurpose them. Buy ‘em when see ‘em!

I found them early this morning. After ordering, I posted a heads up on this thread. I just checked, all of the decals are gone - I assume they have all been purchased.

I was glad to do it! I do not post very often, but this is fantastic forum. I have found many useful tips for all aspects of painting, decaling, etc. I hope I was able to give a little back for all that I get from this site.

They have all sold out - there are only WW2 German and British 1/200 decals still listed, and 1/144 Soviet.
