Well, it has been a long time coming but finally here is South Australia a slight relaxing of the socializing rules - no more than 10 people but strict adherence to social distancing protocols.
Given this, our usual four intrepid airmen decided we could reconvene at my place for our first face-to-face get together since this whole thing started. Unfortunately Gary (aka Baxter) came down with a cold (some lame excuse about taking the dog for a walk on a rainy, windswept runway) and so we were down to three!
I had already set up a scenario based around 2 Bristol fighters swanning along on one side of the trenches after completing a mission who happen to come across 2 Hannovers doing exactly the same. Both pairs were to start on the opposite sides of the mat, flying toward each other and to assume that they both sighted each other simultaneously. We usually decide who will fly what by a dice roll - odds flying Central Powers and evens flying Entente and this resulted in Mark and myself flying the Hannovers and Doug (Windy Jack) taking on the task of piloting the 2 Bristol fighters.

Darn it - caught out by the image gremlin again! I must remember to always take photos in landscape with my phone (I think that's the cause of sideways images)! Anyway back to the AAR...
It didn't take long for the unpleasantries to begin:
From here it was a lot of jockeying for position, clearing gun jams and being forced by rudder jams and engine damage to begin doing seemingly illogical things:
It was soon apparent that the Bristol had lost it's rear gunner and one of the Hannovers had taken engine damage but, the Central Powers eventually wore down the opposition and swept the skies (aka my dining room table) clear of the opposition:
