Pretty nifty. I liked the shell ejecting. Amazing, 120000 fps!
Great stuff!
Would have been even better if the presenters had given up on trying to be funny / amusing and had just got on with it!!!!!!!
I laugh in the face of danger - then I hide until it goes away!
Been interesting to see the prop at flight speed what kind of damage would have been done.
Not as robust perhaps as this one...
Lt "Lucky" Edwin Wright, 19 yrs. old, just returned from his 39th mission - Over Munster he was hit by flak but continued on mission dropped his bombs, did a spot of strafing and returned. When he got back he found a hole 8 inches in diameter through the 11 inch wide prop blade of his P.47 Thunderbolt. This was the 6th time that Wright had been hit by Flak.
But they stood up to a few bullet holes - look carefully, you may see the holes - this is a prop from a Sopwith Baby
"He is wise who watches"
That is a very impressive flak hole. Don't know if he smiling because he is amused or because he pooped his pants.
they couldnt get a real vickers???? shouldve talked to gun jesus or his apostles othias and mae.
Thank you for posting the link to the video, Dan. I agree with you that it would have been interesting to see a more realistic test.
I think there would have been a whole lot more splinters flying everywhere.
Yes, I was waiting for one of the blades to fly off.
Jim
Having fired a M-60 its something to see that in super slow motion. Very cool.
