Hello all, I wanted to combine some of my questions into one thread and get your thoughts.
Balance of Games
- How have you seen/how do you balance your WGS games? I've read some people use a point system per plane/type; the rule book for Battle of Britain Starter Set recommends matching firepower; the era of plane i.e. Maneuver deck size (early war vs late war planes). This all makes sense until you start doing bombing missions. How does one level the playing field when bombers get involved? Those things have lots of guns. This is the balance between real life and having a fun, equal game.
Scenarios
- How many planes can a person easily manage in your experience? The BoB rulebook seems to recommend 2 if I remember correctly, but I've seen others say 2-4. Seems to me the more planes in the air the better the game, but I don't have the Sortie experience yet.
- Are there any solo scenarios you recommend in the Files section? I started diving into a few, but some of the terminology didn't make sense to me. I'd love to see your favorite ones (hopefully basic for a beginner).
- Are there any 3 player scenarios that you have played or recommend? I have two friends I have scheduled to play when the world returns to some sort of normal, and we usually never have a fourth to play. Not sure if there are goofy types of games like "King of the Hill" or "Free for All". I know this game is a free range, play as you see fit.
Release List
- Does someone have a release list of all Wings of War and Wings of Glory planes? I was looking in the Files Section and may have missed it - I saw one for WGF but it was a few years behind. I started making a spread sheet of Nationality, Plane Name, Version, Code (i.e. Great Britain, Spitfire Mk.IX, Beurling, WGS106A) but wanted to add the Release Date as a column. I have attached my current spread sheet here for review if no one has one.
