Default Scale Comparisons for 1/144 WW1 aircraft

    Hi,

Just wondered if anyone could put up some pictures for comparison purposes?
I'm looking at getting some SE5a's from Red Eagle Miniatures and before I purchase some, I just wanted to see what they look like alongside the ares games SE5's.
Hoping to do some more pilots from 56 Sqn.

    Thanks in advance,

    Neal

Can't help with a pic Neal but if you're going an alternative supply route I'd recommend getting 3D printed models from Shapeways.

Some of our forum members are designers & sell their products there, they usually require no building other than fitting the prop, are accurate, light, bounce if dropped, qualities RE models won't necessarily share. I built one once. Once was enough for me !

Have to agree with Dave. I only had the NEXUS/ARES planes then I got hooked on the Shapeways ones for WWI and AIM for WWII. Both of them have different planes you can't get.

I think I've got a Red Eagle SE5a around here somewhere - if I find it I'll post a comparison photo.

I can't provide pictures, too, but I have seen Red Eagle, Shapeways, Valom and WoG planes together and the differences are minimal, if any.

The modelling scale constancy of technical objects is mostly better than those of human models, as the dimensions are clearly defined. Most figure model manufacturers in contrast refer to different points of reference (height of eyes vs. absolute height).

I guess Valom and Shapeways (RAF) have the most realistic scale and the two other manufacturers planes can be classified as toys.
