I did'nt find any post on this plane so, here 's a big duck
    1/144 Trumpeter
    Edit:
    A dark green paint spray,
Then in each panel i put ligth green to mark the panels
After, a delayed painting of dark green to make disappear + or - the difference between the panels
    Metal gun in some places
    Delayed Brunt amber

I hope you understand but I'll make a one by one step for the next one.

It looks really good. Are you using 1/144 scale planes for your WGS games?

    Thank's
Yes I use 1/144 except for the Battle of Britain for which I use the original planes. I made my Heinkel 111 when they were not available.
I chose 1/144 mainly for the Pacific because you'got a lot of choice.
For the Mavis ,I forgot the yellow stripe at the front of the wing

Nice job Fox, can you add some detail to your original post about paints/colours used.

I was originally going to use 1/144 scale for WGS as well because there were so many models out there for it and a lot of those were prepainted as well. We ended up not playing WGS very often, so I never worked out all the details for it. Did you adjust the range ruler size or anything else to accommodate the larger minis?

Nothing specials, just adjust the planes to the peg.
At the beginning I made specials "pegs" with different size to avo´d collisions of the models and note the altitude on a paper but after I just use the normal pegs because it was not really useful.
There's pictures of our games here:

Very nice Mavis. I have quite a number of 1/144 F Toys as I got hooked when playing with Rich down in VA. Still have a number of boxes with them not built.

Here is a Shapeways 1/200 H6K Mavis. This one is from Yokohama Kokutai, late 1941.

Base colors were airbrushed using Mr Color Dark Green, Mitsubishi, C-124 high, and Tamiya IJN Gray, XF-12 low. The props are Vallejo Mahogany Brown, 70.846.

Decals are from mixed Miscellaneous Miniatures parts and the white tail stripe was air brushed using Mr Color Flat White, C-62.

This is a very low detail model, so the canopy is all hand painted based in period photos, using Vallejo Metal Color, Silver.

Weathering is using oil paint dot filtering with Wilder Light Buff, LS-04 and Faded Green, LS-16. I also did the engine soot with Black Night, LS-01. The intent was to depict a plane that had flown many a patrol in the salty, and hot South Pacific. For such a low detail model, I was pretty happy with it.

Thanks guys. It was my first real go at oil weathering on a plane. I can see that the possibilities are endless. The ability to blend and fade is infinitely better than water based paint. It certainly compensates for my lack of skill. I’m looking forward to seeing these planes in action when the pandemic is over.
