Robert your W-12 looks great. Looks like we need to have a North Sea battle when we all meet again. Many thanks for the cards that came today. Posted pictures in the Officers room.

When we meet again, I hope we have two North Sea battles. One using single seat fighters (Albatros W-4, Brandenburg KDW, Rumpler 6B1, etc.) versus a Felixstowe or two. The second battle would be five Hansa Brandenburg W 29s against a Felixstowe or two. I believe those would be two different battles.
So how many books are in your personal library?
Nice looking Kates.
I hope Ares gives us some - they seem to be looking more and more at the PTO - and I don;t have your painting skills.
Robert I am sure we should enough planes for such a battle.
Pete my painting skills are nothing compared to others here. But thanks.
You are a lucky man, Daniel! The less grass/garden you have the lesser time you spent digging and mowning in vain and the more time you have for gaming!
My garden is larger, but nor me neither my wife have green fingers, so we employed a gardener who does the job well. Glueing, painting, playing leaves no time for stupid things!
"We do not stop playing when we get old, but we get old when we stop playing."
Yes, I can honestly say: Happy we have a garden, happier it is a small garden
Nice patch of ground. Have to post photos when the plants grow.
Haven't done any models in 18 years, so now I've finished therapy on my hand, this is my 1st go at Valom 1/144.
Run for your life - there are stupid people everywhere!
Good job on the SPAD, Mick!
I laugh in the face of danger - then I hide until it goes away!
Mick, that plane looks awesome! I find the valom models to be to tiny for my ogre hands. Congrats on the job!
Daniel, I hope to see some plants grow and not artillery holes!!!! Looks like a nice plot. Keeps frosting here, haven't been able to get my plants out.
Thanks Dan, I know what you mean. Could have used another smaller hand or two.
With my local gunsmith closed down by the lockdown and thus putting finishing the girlfriend's C8 on hold, I've moved on to my half the His/Hers pair of "service carbines." Upper receiver group is a military-contract Colt M4, with an 0.2" shim inserted and the flash suppressor pinned and welded to get up to JUST BARELY over 16" legal minimum. Just needs the Aimpoint optic now... it's meant to mimic basic issue for a basic USMC 0311 infantryman other than the Aimpoint in place of the usual Trijicon ACOG. (The thing hanging off the stock is a USB drive for maintenance logs.)
Not "bench," but I'm also starting to try to work up a few campaigns based on the Fifth Air Force in the Southwest Pacific, particularly the 49th and 475th Fighter Groups. I really wish Osprey hadn't terminated the Aviation Elite Units series...
SPAD is outstanding, really like how it turned out.
While I find the AR inrteresting, I am more of a AK/SKS man myself. Did get a couple of new 5 round mags for my M69 Romanian 22 cal Bolt action rifles today, Old ones were beat up a bit and my wife's did not feed properly. If they work well, may get a second pair (After market production that are NIB), got em off E-Bay.
This one's actually meant for a triple role: Service Rifle competition alongside the C8 (Canadian M4, but green) I'm building for my gal, Serious Work and eventually a "teaching gun" for the "Now" half of "Then & Now" hands-on exercises once I get my classroom.
Personally, I prefer WWII-era "wood and steel," except that few guns from the period are made for my combo of deep chest and short arms, and once cut down to fit me they're unusable for anyone else without replacing the stock. (If Bill Gates is buyin', make mine a Thompson.)
Try out a 7.35 Carcano, mine is a carbine and has the smaller frame. Or just a M1 carbine may work also though a bit lightweight.
As for the Thompson comment, love em but would kill for a BAR.
That is a great looking Valom kit, Mick. I purchased a couple of the Fokker D.VII + SPAD XIII kits back at the start of the year. Back when things were "normal" and I had high hopes for starting modeling again after 50+ years. Once again, I'm being shamed into getting them back out and mustering some courage to start. Right after I paint my remaining 75 Zombicide miniatures. Always the excuses!
Jeff, I feel ya there! I bought the Fokker VII and Fokker DR1 kits. I took one look at the small bits and decided two work on something else. They are nicely done kits. I don't know if I have the patience for all those little bitty parts.
I have used the decals from their kits on some Ares repaint. The decals are really nice. The only issue I had with the decals is that they are quite thin and if you soak them too much the will tear.
Thanks Jeff, they are fiddly little things and I did have the undercarriage superglued to my fingers more than once.
Nice looking M4s. I used to use the old L1A1 slr when I was in the RAF, went black powder when I left, but had to give up. Over here the powers that be don't like us using firearms.
Thought I'd share something with you all, as I haven't done any 'painting' this month. I think only two people from this Forum have ever seen this place in person, and only one has seen any work in action. That would be Shane [Skyguy001] and Mike [mikeemagnus] respectively.
The card magic happens here.
Dual 23" screens, one for reference, one for Photoshop/Illustrator. On the right side, the silver/black box is an Epson V700 semi-pro scanner.
Not really clear, but the screens are showing the H8K2 card under construction.
When I step away from the Work Bench, the "Matrix" screen saver pops up.
This is animated, and the code runs down the screen just like in the movies.
I have custom-sized it to fit the dual screen desktop, and changed the letter color to blue.

So this where the magic of card making happens. Thanks for showing us that. And thanks for what you do.
Awesome Mike. What graphics program are you using.

Very nicely done
Very nice
Thanks, though that's opposite sides of the same iron. One of these days I'd like to find or build a C1A1 (Canadian FAL), since it's probably what the GF's dad woulda checked out on in his RCAF days.
I wish I could get steadier hands to try some of these... and get a metric F-ton of those 1/700 scale Japanese-made WWII ships and planes at an affordable price to make 3d targets.
Here's an example of his usual work.
HMCS Iroquois and HMCS Haida
"306 parts this time, which is quite insane considering that the finished model is 6.5in long and that I only used 10 kit parts.
The project wouldn’t be possible without the custom laser cut deck pieces I had done and the 3D printed boats, guns, and life rafts from Micro Master."
His work is beautiful. I was thinking, try to make the existing kits more durable--I'd also omit rigging and fabricate wire masts as part of the "ruggedizing" process.
