Default Searching for information on the Richthofen film - specifically the Voss F103/17

Hi all, I wonder if anyone can help me?
I'm an author of WW1 and WW2 fiction, recently I've published a novel about the WW2 bombing offensive (LMF), a novella about Zeppelin hunting in 1916 (Leviathan) and my novel, Eleven Days set during Bloody April will be published in July.
I'm writing my next novel about Black September, 1918 and, for reasons that are important to the plot, I'm trying to find out information about the scene in the 'Richthofen Film' shot by Anton Fokker that I'm sure most of you will have seen (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=feP-__ZoxtQ). Specifically I'm interested in the Werner Voss scenes that appear at about 20'11" into it where he is posing in and in front of F103/17. Does anyone know when and where it was taken? Obviously it was before 23/9/17 when Voss died. I'm guessing it would either be late August or early September. Was it at or near the Fokker factory at Schwerin or in France or Belgium?
    All information gratefully received!

Hi Malcolm, check out his Wikipedia entry under Voss in Command
On 31 August, Anthony Fokker escorted German Chancellor Georg Michaelis and Major General Ernst von Lossberg to see and film the new triplane.
So if you can find out Jasta 10's location on that date that should answer your question...
    Marckebeke: 2 July 1917 – 21 November 1917 - Belgium

I was researching this plane only yesterday!

"The Blue Max Airmen - Volume #6" contains photographs of Fokker and Voss chatting beside F1 103/17; they are standing behind the port wings, next to the cockpit, so these photos are NOT still frames from the film (pp 77-78, photos V26, V27, V28) but were taken from a different viewpoint.
However, both figures are dressed identically to their Film appearance, right down to Fokker's flat cap!

The private album from which they came identified them as having been taken on "5 Sept. 1917 Nachm. 4h", ie @ 16:00 that day, after Voss' 2 victories earlier on. It cites the location as Jasta 10's Markebeke airfield (page 75).

F1 103/17 was "delivered to Markebeke for his use on 28th August" (page 49), and Jasta 10 were still there on September 9th, when Archduke Karl Albrecht of Austria-Teschen visited, and Voss showed the new Fokker to him (page 50).
I laugh in the face of danger - then I hide until it goes away!

Tim's nailed it - I was in a rush and looked up the wrong year !
It is Marckebeke: 2 July 1917 – 21 November 1917, I have corrected my error.

You might find this useful also: "Notes for A.H.G. Fokker Films..."

The bit on Voss is the bottom of page 7
