The chaps who produce our medals do a great job, here’s a thought though (and a suggestion for these times of isolation) has anyone with a 3D printer ever thought of producing physical copies of them, could be a nice little earner....
Just a thought

Never Knowingly Undergunned !!
Could maybe produce them as coins?

So very tempting as a challenge; but it's another thing on my plate, and I have so many already. For example, trying to get honza's app to work on my phone, so I can do the proofreading I offered.
That would be cool! I would happily pay for physical ones.
Me too^^^
Checking with a source to see if it can be done
See you on the Dark Side......
The ones that do not look enameled would be possible via Shapeways metal printing (they have copper, brass, bronze, steel, aluminum, etc.). But what about the ribbons?
That would be something to have in a shadow box. I have 4 of the Aerodrome coins already. 1 is the Aerodrome coin and the other 3 are ones that were offered when we started bringing folks over here to Origins. Years ago, in the Army, we had challenge coins. Here is the one I carry at all time in my wallet. Since I have 3 I scanned both sides of it. You will recognize what's on this coin.
On the left is the Army Security Agency (ASA) patch and on the right the Military Intelligence crest. Now you will all see where I get the phrase "IN GOD WE TRUST...ALL OTHERS WE MONITOR".

Wow!That's a lot of medals
We have an adage in Czech languege: "He has as many medals as Russian general."
How about the North Koreans. I never wore any on my pants.

Karl that is the MI, what we called, "BRASS". We wore that on our Greens and Khaki's. Never thought much of the symbiology of it. Now I have something to research.
Medals on your pants...keeps them from sitting down on the job.
So how many books are in your personal library?
A nice thought but it could get expensive. Do we really want the North Korean look?
Those Koreans look like a bunch of Cockneys
Bob, I think its time you get a 2nd bar. Next time we meet I'll rearrange your ribbons into two shorter sets. I don't want you to trip and fall!
Bob, be careful with earning so many awards - you can be in serious troubles in restrooms...
So how many books are in your personal library?
LEGO something different. You never know what things can make out of them.
I still have 2 T&T bars I haven't added to my WWI set. Makes it longer.
If you get bored you can always make planes out of your legos!
Bob, very impressive!

some of the medals would definitely look cool. but the ones based on actual medals could get one in some "stolen valor" hot water.
I think it quite clear there are not "real" ribbons, especialy in combination with Bull's Eye etc. On the other hand, it is a way how to teach someone about them.
Those Lego planes are awesome, does anyone have any military themed Lego instructions.
Never Knowingly Undergunned !!
OOOhhhhhh my GOD!!!!! Those are frickin awesome!!!!!!
Robert, my post man is going to hate me!
He may need a bigger tunic for all those medals!
In the past I have toyed with the idea of printing out heavy stock paper copies of the medals and "court mounting" them with a pin just for the fun of it, but that was so far down on my "to do" list I never got to it...
