Last Saturday of the Month at the Museum
A rare day, indeed! This won't happen too often. According to the Interweb, every 28 years? Not as rare as I thought it might be.
Anyway, I was at the Museum with some Wings of Glory enthusiasts, and we decided on WWII, this time around.
First Game Set-up:
Buddy Mike and Shane [Skyguy001] at the conference table
Two Bf-109s (Perfect Aim and Aerobatic Pilot), flown by Mike, and a Ju-87 Stuka, flown by me, against three Hawker Hurricanes, flown by Shane, and later assisted by Nikolas:
The Stuka is relentlessly pounded by Shane and Nikolas, and goes down well short of the target:
The mission continued for a bit longer as we traded piloting planes. Nikolas and Mike each had a damaged plane at the end, and the damage draws went against Mike for a successful defence of England by No.1 RCAF Squadron.
Second Game (No photos, sorry):
We followed up with a dogfight game using a Beaufighter (Nikolas) and two Hurricanes (Shane, with Perfect Aim), and Mike again flying two Bf-109s escorting my Bf-110.
The Beaufighter went down first with combined fire from all the German planes, My Bf-110 went down next, and then we skirmished with the fighters until we were reduced to one Bf-109 flown by Mike.
Two good games, and a few discussions with passers-by about historical aviation issues, if not the game, made for lots of fun.
Next Month, we might be flying a Zeppelin-Staken, supplied by Nikolas!
