Just an update.... given that this event is scheduled for the end of a September, obviously it is hoped that the virus has passed and we are able to proceed as planned. However as no one has a clue how long before we all crawl out of our isolation, we will have to review nearer the time. Fingers crossed.

Covid has wiped out my plan past March for many things, which perversely lets me have a bit more control so as it stands, if restrictions are lifted in time, I can now be there

    Glad to hear that Dave.
There is light at the end of the tunnel, and hopefully not someone with a torch bringing you more work!

Be fantastic to have you back Dave, given everything that has been/is going to be cancelled, could the the first opportunity for us to reconvene. Could be a bumper year for Doncaster, if only it is safe/we are allowed to get together.

Might be a problem if the borders are shut but booked last year at the Premier Inn so if there is still an airline left flying we will be there.

I think that there is still some way to go before the relaxation of conditions will allow us to play the game.

They are currently only open from 10:00-11:00 on Tuesday. I will do my best to get hold of them in this small window and find out where we stand. Would be a bugger if the airports and hotels are open but the venue isn’t.

as far as I know it is now OK for Dutchies (which includes me) to travel to the UK and get in without having to go in quarantine for two weeks ...
    So, that's one hurdle less.
However it is still unsure if that means it is safe to do so (as SWMBO keeps mentioning ...)
    Let's see, let's see ....

This could be the killer. If they set a limit to the numbers per room we might be down your garden shed for a game

Hopefully I can speak to them on Tuesday. However we need the government to allow indoor gatherings or we are scuppered.

That actually sounds AWESOME kind of a bivouac but with tents, field reenactors, tents for different games, mess tents, all with few rules-better than a stuffy hall - unless you do it in AZ where it's 43C . . . .

We don’t get 43c if you add up the temperatures for the whole week...
