The deck analysis feature was finished. It basically shows the cards, says damn wise things, and lists the related aircraft.

    bars - speed >>> green: speed < 100km/h, blue: speed < 200km/h / yellow: speed > 200km/h
letters - designation >>> F -fighter, B- bomber, LB - light bomber, O- observer, GA - ground attack aircraft, AS - anti submarine aircraft, E - escort aircraft ... and combinations
    man silhouettes - crew
    circles (props) - engines
small black bars - bomb load (one bar approx. 50kg)

The last thing i have to do is the scenario builder.
Click on a calendar > get all available aircraft > add from the available aircraft to your scenario > get points total on both sides (if you care).

Since Ares hasn't been in any too big hurry about their App stretch goal from Kickstarter, seems to me they should just license this, throw some development funding your way and let you make the magic happen.

    Right on

Guys when you look at the calendar on the picture above, you see i marked Verdun, Somme and Bloody April.
What other remarkable events (somehow connected to air war) shall i mark?

  15. #65

    Default

Kaiserschlacht and the Hundred Days in 1918-both sides started using ground support aircraft for their offensives on a regular, large-scale basis.

Most of the major battles would have an air component to it somewhere in their time frame Jan. Most chaps will want to do part of a battle they find in their research and look to see what types are available to play a scenario so you'd just need the dates of those events.
Have a look at this link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...of_World_War_I it lists the major battles and links to pages for them.
eg Attack at Fromelles - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attack_at_Fromelles - gives a precis of the air operations.

Would it be possible to match the speed bar colours to the WoG speed brackets Jan ?
ie yellow >200kph (Very fast); orange >180kph (Fast); red >160kph (average); blue >140kph (slow); green >130kph (very slow)...etc
May make it easier to relate to the model's & their speeds for comparison.

A darker green,or, Brown maybe ?! - There are two slower bands to consider: sluggish >100kph & pedestrian <100kph

No - Wings of Glory, the game we play.. There is an old document called 'Tools For Working Out Stats' in the files, a bit outdated now but helpful nonetheless, which names the banded speeds, amongst other things, and gives an idea of why the aircraft have the decks they do.

    I got it, thanks.

Actually i was thinking about something called a "Table speed", which is basically the arrow length + base length. That would come handy in case of the giants, as they have bigger base (at least i suppose, my Jimmy Page has been sitting on the shelf still in the shrinkwrap).

Also, i wonder if i am able to the trigonometry and tell the diameter of the tightest turn from the turn card and a base. I wasn't really thinking about it, just an immediate idea.

Basically, it is necessary to know/measure angles and then it's easy:

Edit #1: Maybe it would be better to count with bottom of the arrows as "b".
Edit #2: φ=α (using φ much more often in my job, so an obvipus typo).

Ok, well, you don't count the head of the arrow as that is overlapped by the base so it's just the shaft of the arrow.
Bases for the Giants are 8cm, so the XB deck for HP O/400 = 10cm 'table speed' ; XA deck for Staaken = 9.2cm table speed.
All other bases are standard length.
The bar representation you already have, when updated to match the deck speeds, will give an 'at a glance' idea for players when matching aircraft.

Thanks, but how does it relate to the diameter of the turn?

  33. #83

    Default

You can count easily the diameter of the turn from the triangles. Use it or leave it, it's up to you.

  34. #84

    Default

Can you possibly show me how? I spent like 1h drawing pictures and i can't see how it relates.

  35. #85

    Default

You can take the tightest possible turn (let's count with 90°, that's the easiest case) and count the first "x". That's a half. Then continue with second triangle, add the best fitting distance ("a"?) and you should be there. For 45° and 60° it's not so simply, but principle should be the same - seeking and constructing triangles that fits together. But maybe I'm wrong, does it makes sense?
Or you can draw it in autocad and measure it.

  36. #86

    Default

Actually, i may see it now Thanks!

Minor quibble: "Entente" is spelled incorrectly.

As for the captured aircraft, there is Macchi and Camel right? Did i overlook something?
I have to add those two somehow to the app.
