    Default OTT CYM Rosters

The rosters for CYM are completed as far as possible (fingers crossed) & linked to the rules sticky.
Have a look - every time I do I find something I've missed but might have it this time (bar additional results from Rob).
I am trying to track total victories from both campaigns of the pilots involved (as previously done) & have an additional number (from the POW/KIA) from the previous mission to give you an idea of an overall total.
There is also a 'mish' column that shows the number of missions/victories from the previous campaign for tandem crews which goes toward their medal count and not a concern for you chaps, just an aide to save me swapping between rosters & counting on m'fingers !

Heres a link to the e minis website. They have a great range of all sorts, and the English versions are often on promo.

A couple of minor, minor points...for my Eagles opposition I think you mean "Schwendemann" and not "Scwendemann". The 2nd just looks weird for a German name. The even more minor point is that there's a "." at the end of "Garrelt." I'm not sure if that was a type for another letter or just extraneous. But very, very minor points.

I didn't mean anything - the names are cut and pasted from a list of WW1 pilots so someone else's typo, or, that's how he spelt his name but I have added the h and deleted the spurious full stop if it makes you feel better !

Makes no difference to me really. Just very minor observations and I didn't mean to offend. You do a lot of hard work and it is appreciated.

No worries, Dave. Two weeks ago, I fell on the ice, heavily and flat on my back. No broken bones but still a fair bit of pain so gaming is a challenge.

my planes are mainly later period i.e camels, SE5s, DR.1 D.v11s. can I drop in later into the Campaign i.e. mid late 1916?

Did you mean mid late 1917 Iain ? We should get there in a few years time if we follow on through the three month campaign schedule !
Meantime you can always look at the previous late era campaigns linked in the sticky above and try your hand at them or follow Paul's lead to convert the missions to a later period & post them in the AAR sub-forum.

Stumbled on it quite by chance - I liked the fact he talked through the development that led to the D.Va.
The only obvious error I picked up on was about the D.V when he stated the engine was uprated from 160 to 180 hp, it would have started life with the Mercedes D.IIIa engine which was about 170hp (180hp by British rating), then had the Mercedes D.IIIaü 180hp (200hp by British rating) upgrade. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes_D.III

For Christmas I got a copy of The Birth of the Royal Air Force by I.Philpott. I was looking through it recently, and while it reads more like a scrapbook than anything, it does have an appendix of which planes were in use by each squadron throughout the whole war! Now, it might say the squadron has Martinsyde G.100s in use without ever saying whether that is one G.100 or 20 G.100s, but we can still use the data to get an approximation of which planes the British were using during Jul-Aug-Sept 1916 period of this campaign:

    Heavy Use
    R.A.F. B.E.2c [No. 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 15, 16, 19 (Jul), 21 (Jul-Aug), 24]
    R.A.F. B.E.2d [No. 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 15 (Aug-Sep), 16, 21 (Jul-Aug)]
    R.A.F. F.E.2b [No. 11, 18, 19 (Jul), 22, 23, 24]
    Airco D.H.2 [No. 24, 29, 32]

    Medium Use
    R.A.F. B.E.2e [No.4, 9(Aug-Sep), 13 (Sep), 15 (Aug-Sep), 16, 42 (Sep)]
    R.A.F. F.E.2d [No. 20, 24]

    Martinsyde G.100 [No. 27]
    Sopwith Strutter [No. 70]

    Light Use
    Morane-Saulnier Type BB [No. 1, 3, 60 (Jul-Aug)]
    Nieuport 16 [No.1 (Jul-Aug), 3 (Jul-Aug), 11 (Jul-Aug), 60 (Aug-Sep)]
    R.A.F. B.E.12 [No. 10 (Jul), 19, 21 (Aug-Sep)]
    R.A.F. R.E.7 [No. 19 (Jul), 20 (Sep), 21 (Jul-Aug)]
    Morane-Saulnier Type P [No. 1, 3]
    Morane-Saulnier Type LA [No. 1, 3]
    Bristol Scout [No. 11 (Jul-Aug), 19 (Jul), 43 (Sep)]
    Nieuport 17 [No. 1, 11 (Jul-Aug), 60 (Aug-Sep)]

For those using my solo charts I have added the new Ares R deck as Dave's D8 AI Solo Chart R(a) v.1 if any have the new model & a desire to use the full deck. I'm leaving the original in the shared B,J,R chart for those who don't have the new model. It will be marked as R(n) for Nexus one day.

Nice. Currently I'm flying Fokker D.Is and they use the R deck. Not looking I picked 2 of my R decks and had an old and a new. I of course the plane I was flying ended up with the old slightly less nimble deck.

Typical luck ! That is likely the one to go with though, as that would have been the data they had when it was selected but may be worth asking the committee if it's worth changing up to the new deck. Zoe might be a person to ask.
I still fly my N.16 with the R(n) deck at the minute.

I had forgotten there was a difference between the old and new R decks. I like that it could be used to differentiate planes. I don't know enough about the Fokker D.I to say it should be as maneuverable as the N16 so using the old deck makes sense to me.

  35. #85

The N.16 should be markedly less manoeuvrable than the N.11, so, on that rationale, the N.16 should use the old Nexus deck (no wide sideslips).

    Perfectly reasonable.

    Note for all -
In future when creating your BRF's can you keep the images down to a minimum please.
I ask this as, due to the vagaries of the system, I often have to transfer them across to the compilation thread or they don't show (though I can see them fine) and that can take a bit of time to do.
A couple or so for colour and a few for setup clarification is fine but we're hitting high teens in total these days & that seems to be a bit of an overkill - a picture paints a thousand words but we don't need a dissertation !

    I & Uncle thank you !

Happy to knock up a bombing raid on a railway siding or some such, by BE2s / Martinsydes / RE7s or whatever, escorted by a Sopwith or two. Attacked by Rolands / LVGs etc OR reversed for the Central Powers players. It would be based on actual events taken from the Official History of the War in the Air.
Also, more than happy to step aside if anyone else wants to step in. Offer is there if needed
