Nice Nappy's, never did that unit.
Nice Nappy's, never did that unit.
1 Wing RNAS - Redford Henry 'Red' Mulock (Serial 3977 - red paint scheme) and Daniel Murray Bayne Galbraith (Serial 3986 - dark blue paint scheme). The serial numbers are for planes these pilots flew but the paint schemes are fictitious. The blue one was inspired by a later one for a RNAS Sopwith Camel (B7190 - WGR Hinchliffe). They will form part of my RNAS scout flight for the upcoming OTT campaign.
Finally took the dive into making my own decals. Learned quite a bit. Repainted some Hanriot HD1 planes using the 76 sqdrl as a base plane.
The first plane is the stock Scaroni. I repainted the tail and touched up the plane. Had several little black dots over it so I cleaned all that up.
The next I used I-94 Decals for. So here is Tente Otto Palla.
Here is the first of the decals made. Here is Tente Giochi Di Dadi.
Here is the second of the home made decals. This one is based off of the Flavio Baracchini scheme.
Here is the third of the home made decals. This is based off of the Giorgio Michetti scheme.
Turned out pretty good for my first go with decal paper. Hope my next ones turn out good as well.
Your decals turned out very nicely, Dan.
Interesting, the pictures are small on the thread now, but you can click on them to see it.
Here the blue RNAS Nieuport 11 'fixed' with a blue outline to the white bars on the wings. Not demarcation lines, although the lines serve that purpose, but tape along the rib that separates the white from the CDL. I had debated whether or not to have a blue edging. The white shows up well enough to the eye but not to the camera and these schemes are meant for the OTT AAR so in went the blue lines.

Eindecker, zweideckers, dreideckers, vierdeckers, funfdeckers, sechsdeckers, siebendeckers.....
Nice work Tim. These the ones you wanted cards for?
Run for your life - there are stupid people everywhere!
Looking damn good Tim! Particularly like the rigging.
Excellent work with the Eindeckers, Tim.
Rep gun jammed...
Voilŕ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Paul and Sven, thanks for the kind comments. I really appreciate them.
Tim,
Those are some awesome planes. I don't think I would have the patience for that kind of amazing detail.
Nice work guys. Dan, I really like your Hanriots. Nice decal work.
Thank you Peter. I appreciate your kind comments.
There is a whole deal of goodness in this thread -
Dan, liking the Hanriot fest - good job.
Paul, natty Nieuports - doubtless I will see much more of them in the coming months !
Robert, a funtastic floating target
Tim, excellent eindeckers my friend.
Well done all, they look superb.

Magnificent painting Tim.

Really nice stuff there Robert. Are we going to see them in a game soon ?
Nice target ships Robert. Who is the Shapeways designer? I'd like to add this to the Shapeways Accessories list.
Nice bubble top Jugs Bob. Great, now I'll have to get some of these!
I really like those bubble tops.
These freighters are by Clear Air Turbulence. It's called a 'Three Island Cargo Ship'. It is available in WSF and FUD.
Decapod (maker of airplanes) has a EFC 1020 'Laker' in 1/600 and 1/700 scales. He also has a EFC 1013 freighter in 1/600 and 1/700 scales. I have both but have not painted them up yet.
Classic Airships has a Submarine Type UBIII (waterline model) in 1/600 and 1/700 scales. This is a triple pack. I do not have this model, but plan to order it to use in Teaticket's Mission 19 solo scenario.

Have to get photos of those ship up here Robert.

Bob, those are really nice!
Nice job on those, Bob.
I am starting to think you must have a massive hangar to store your collection.
Certainly look the part Bob.
Rob.

Bob, You must have a very nice hanger. All those planes you have shown us are beautiful looking!
In preparing for the upcoming Battle of Britain campaign I have been madly touching up and adding decals to the aircraft I bought over 3 years ago.
These are the 'Squadron Packs' that came with decals (and much-needed touch ups) - at least for the RAF Spitfires and Hurricanes.
Between my eyesight and the fiddly little decals I can really appreciate the work that some of you display every month ...
1/200 is definitely harder for me to work on compared to the 1/144 of WGF
Me109E-3 of JG2
All I did to these was add the fiddly little decals.
Spitfires and Hurricanes
Touched up and decaled Spits
303 Squadron Hurricanes
Touched up and decaled
I made some into RAF 242 Squadron since I will be flying that one in the campaign, and finally did up Percy Burton (GN H). Flash posted this picture and and article about him back in 2015 and I said I would do a Hurricane in his honour. I had expected to have to repaint a Belgian or Russian Hurricane to do that, but purchased enough of the newer ones to use one of them.
Speaking of the newer ones ....
I guess I should pay closer attention when I check in my orders.
(Notice the missing nose cone/propeller)
I got this one with my initial BoB order from Keith but never opened every package and put them away for later use.
I have contacted Ares and they are sending me a replacement.
I know what you mean Pete. The 1/200 decals are a bit tiny to work with. I still have a bit of decal work to go on my BoB fighters.
Fokker EIII of Ernst Udet (KeK Habsheim) and Gotthard Sachsenberg (1 Marine FFA). My first EIII since my first Valom kits. This time the landing struts are all Valom photo-etched parts! The original two Valom EIII are in the final photo.
More planes to build / paint for the OTT campaign but this should do me for at least the first mission. Now to finish off my Nieuport 11 for my OTT scout flight.
Looking very smart Paul.

Your paint jobs are fantastic. Mine just keep me occupied with something to do and never up to what others do but keep me inspired.
Bob, since you're moving into WWF planes, here are some reasonable Nieuport re-paints:
1) Dutch
http://warbirdsnews.com/aviation-mus...aviodrome.html
2) Romanian Ni11
http://www.swroble.com/Aircraft/Cont...Nieuport11.htm
3) Ukrainian Ni17
http://zarkovmodels.com/en/?pid=244
4) Siamese
http://www.wings-aviation.ch/11-RTAF.../Aeroplane.htm
5) Serbian - seems very similar to French ones - so easiest of all?
https://lifthereserbia.wordpress.com...lonika-in-172/
The Dutch one seems easy to do but the Ukrainian one with the eagle decal would be very snazzy.
Funny you mentioned Siamese. I see that they had a Br 14 and have a replica at the museum in Bangkok. Wish I was into this more when I was stationed there. Would have been a nice trip down there. I have to check into some of the other ones you mentioned. Since some of the family is from Ukraine that would be a good choice also. Thanks for the links.
They wife says the numbers on the Siamese planes are 23 and 30. I do have those decals so may be in the next order.
