    Default 1:144 Models, Same Stands?

    Hi Folks,

I'm looking to embark on some 1:144 WoG, and was wondering:

Do folks just mount the 1:144 models onto regular 1:200 bases?

I would assume so, but we all know what you get when you assume...

That has been my approach. Less work on my part to get the larger planes on the table. It does have it downsides though as the wings easily hang over the bases sides.

    Hello
I play with 1/144 for my Pacific campaign ( more choice for the planes). No problem with the bases.

    FYI.
The ground scale for the Wings of War (WWS)/Wings of Glory(WGS) WWII game is 1/2270-ish. 1/200 scale miniatures were produced, mostly, IMHO, because they would fit in the WWF/WGF (1/144 scale) boxes.

Therefore, you can use 1/144 scale WWII planes in the game, and the stands might 'appear' to be a bit small. However in game mechanics terms, and for using existing maneuver cards, the size of the miniature is actually irrelevant. Aircraft speed, distance travelled, and effective firepower (the range ruler) are still at 1/2270-ish scale.

When I played with the 1/144 (F TOYS) planes we used the LITKO bases which I also use for my WOG planes.

Or you could order Aerodrome bases, with stats engraved?

Both Litko and Aerodrome bases are sized to fit the WWS/WGS plane cards. The size of the miniature on the peg can be different, with no effect on game-play.

Our first foray into 1/144th WW2 was at Falkirk way back in the year.......forget now but the aircraft sat well on the WoG bases. That included Heinkel, JU88 and fighter variants.
