This is my third try at OTT DYM Mission 12. The scenario is described here:

The 2nd try was my ‘official’ write-up and was played with normal AAMG effective only up to altitude 2. As the planes were at altitude 3 this meant effectively no AA fire. This trial was to use AA guns. There were 2 AA guns per side 1 ruler back from the centre line join and each one ruler in from other side edge. Effectively each AA gun was 2 rulers from the dead-centre of the 2 mats.
The planes were 3 Rolands versus 1 RE8 (primary recce), 1 DH4 (secondary recce) and 1 F2B (escort). Not a fair match but I played all Rolands while AI played the Entente planes – maybe even more unfair.
Nothing happened until the end of turn 2 when all hell broke out. The CP AA guns both fired as the Entente planes were faster and approached down the centre. Only one Entente AA gun fired as the CP planes approached via a flank. Despite this both CP guns did nothing while the Entente gun set the primary recce Roland (the lower one in the photo) on fire – and just as it was lined up for a photo! (Lower card with special damage indicates a hit and the upper card, if there’s a hit, the damage.) The F2B (in the middle) was engaged by the secondary recce Roland (middle) and the escort Roland (pink). The RE8 and primary recce Roland exchanged fire. The escort Roland fired at long range at the DH4 for minimal damage. Start of turn 3 fire damage on the Roland was also minimal.
First phase of turn 3 saw more deadly plane to plane fire. The escort Roland and the RE8 both got engine hits forcing them to return to base and the secondary recce Roland was also set on fire. At this point I ended the game as the CP had lost the escort and had both recce planes on fire which prevented them from taking photos since they needed to fly a ‘stall’ to take a photo. I applied the remaining fire damage which saw the secondary recce Roland downed and the primary Roland forced to return to base. The final damage is below.
A resounding Entente victory with 6 photos (1 by RE8 and remaining 5 by DH4) versus 1 (secondary Roland). Mostly due to card luck and not so much the Rolands being outmatched.
