Default The Wright Flight is at it again!

This Saturday is the second Saturday of the month - and, of course, that means The Wright Flight is taking to the air again to battle it out among the clouds at Epic Loot in Centerville, Ohio - doors open at 11 AM and we are usually airborne by 11:30 - not sure exactly what we will be flying this weekend, although we did talk about a game involving tripods and triplanes and a no-mans-land map...

Join us for the fun if you are able! I am sure we shall have plane-on-plane action before we tackle a T&T scenario

    All the best,
    Matt

We had another great Saturday at Epic Loot in Centerville. The first round had Lafayette Escadrille Spad VIIIs tangling with Jasta 5 Albatros D.IIs. It was a very evenly matched game. As you can see in the pictures there were times ever plane on the board was try to fly through a six inch square area. What a fur ball. The second round was a true Tripods & Triplanes game. We had three tripods being attacked by six Jasta 11 Fokker DR,1s. The Flying Circus attacked with a vengeance. We were used to using late war fighters against the tripods. The DR.1s were nimble slower fighters so they really stayed in the mix with the tripods. A fun game.

Our second game today featured Tripods & Triplanes, just like the game title demands/advertises/suggests! This was the first time we used triplanes exclusively for the humans, and they worked out fairly nicely - they are a little bit slower than the end-of-war birds we have gone with in the past several games, and their nimbleness stood them in good stead as they were bobbing and weaving and trying to keep the Martians in their sights. Everyone seemed to have a good time - lots of damage dealt out - and the Herr Oberst's new Heat-Ray range sticks look great on the game mat

This first picture shows things all piled up with some hot and heavy damage being dealt...

...while this second one shows the demise of one of my Locust Mk I tripods.

With six Fokker Dr Is taking on three tripods, things were pretty even - I would say the triplanes had the advantage because with all six buzzing around like hornets, it seemed one or two were able to fire on unshielded areas of the tripods and do some serious damage...

Lots of fun, to be sure! More pics can be found on my AAR in the T&T threads section - I should have that up either later this evening or tomorrow morning.

    All the best,
    Matt
