AAR #1 - Dogfight One old face returned and a new face arrived for a total of eight players. We started with a late war dogfight: JohnM flew a SS D.III, CrashCraig a Fokker D.VII, JohnE a captured Sopwith Camel, and I had a Fokker D.VII, while BalticBob flew Nieuport 28, Jim a Sopwith Camel, Todd an S.E. 5a and BobP flew another Nieuport 28. Here is most of the lineup at the beginning of the game.
JohnE and I were not sure if we would have overlapping airplanes, but there was a small gap between us. So nose to nose, we hosed each other. My damage was not severe.
And BalticBob in his first combat draws a Boom card. He is a magnet for them.
A serious fur ball here in the center of the photo.
And Jim draws the second explosion card in the double A deck. The Germans are up 4 to 2.
JohnM in his SS D.III is on fire but is closing in on Todd for an attack.
And JohnM knocks Todd out of the sky! Now it is 4 to 1. And this isn't even Bloody April.
JohnM waves as he passes Todd's crashed aircraft. CrashCraig has broken up heaps for both British and German planes.
I had sustained 14 points of damage and was heading for the German side of the table. BobP was trying to make it to his own side, when JohnM, with his fire finally out and still flying, manages to shoot down his Nieuport 28 at extreme range. The Germans make a clean sweep
