As always fantastic job. I also like the Sumoas. I had a few Heller 1/72 models along with a Char B Bis 1 (Matchbox) 1/76 which I think Revell now makes but not at the price I payed back in the 77.
When Jager (Karl) posted photos of the jets he has I noticed, and he replied, that they were AIM models. I also noticed what appeared to be 2 Ar 234's so I asked Dave about that. He said no they were not his but he has some new planes about ready. Well these new planes are the Do 335 and the Horton (Go) 239. Well these are something to look forward to getting.
Do 335s by Dave will be nice. The Shapeways ones have so much less detail.

I can see that I'm going to need a damage points number for my German Tanks when I call down an air strike.

So how many books are in your personal library?
Been sorting through my military medal collection and decided that there had to be a better solution then just having them all piled in a shoe box.
So, I laid out some of my medals to try and figure out what I could do.
I thought...what if I took a comic book backer board and cut it up into 6 pieces and punched a couple of holes in it.
Used the holes to pin the medal and used some two sided hobby tape to mount the ribbon. Took some clear return labels and made some identifier labels. Turning out pretty good here.
Into the new binder I just bought. Looks wonderful. Just another 30 or so to go.
I think this is much better than a shoe box!!!
Dan go to Medals Of America and you can find ribbon holders to hold the ribbons. These are the ones we wore on our uniforms. They also have shadow boxes but they cost a bit. Your solution is good and if you are happy with it that's what counts.
So Robert is that why I need to bring my Rumpler's to the Gritty Goblin next month ? I just received an order from Shapeways and had 3 more floatplanes in that order. Working on them and hope to get them done this week. When I got the Rumpler's I thought they looked pretty cool so now I am hooked on floatplanes. Our own Daryl, Reduced Aircraft Factory (RAF) has a SHORT 184 seaplane with bombs or torpedoes.
Nice card Mike. May have to pick up some French tanks at COLD WARS.
Bob, thanks for the info. I'll take a lot and see what they have.
Nice Albatrosses!
Lovely duo, Paul!
What colour green did you use on Rumpel?

Thanks, Tim.
The green is a special mix. I lightened phthalo green cadmium yellow and then adjusted with phthalo blue until I was close to the colour in the Aeronaut picture. So a slightly bluish grass green.
The description says it’s a “bright grass green” which is a reference to Rumpel’s original unit, Jager-Regiment zu Pferde No. 6 which had light green facings.

I agree with Dave, Dan - a great way to store and showcase your medals!
All the best,
Matt
Got a couple of MvR Albatros D.III from my lad for Christmas, one has been done as Jasta 11's Otto Brauneck's with blue nose & elevator to fit in with my others - Allmenroder, Wolff, Schäfer & MvR - this one I've done as an interpretation of LvR's Alb D.III.
It seems, as is usual with these things, no one actually knows what was right so I went with the dark fuselage interpretation and used this as a guide:
LvR Albatros D.III_1.jpg Views: 225 Size: 81.3 KB ID: 281343" class="thumbnail" style="float:CONFIG" />
- I've yet to decide what to do with the tail so left it red for now as it fits in with some others in Jasta 11 but an easy fix if it should be cammo.

Lovely work, Dave! What colors did you use for the wing camo, and where did you get the Albatross decal for the tail?
All the best,
Matt
Matt, I used Humbrol: 121 for the pale green, 186 for chestnut, 75 for the dark green. I hand painted the Albatros decal...
Nah ! it's on the MvR model, I just painted round it.
Fuselage is two GW browns one over another, one was Vermin fur ?? Used a GW bone colour for the rudder and blood red for the stripe.

Cracking job, Dave!

Thanks, I'm happy with how it came out, it's about as accurate as the model...
I managed to tear the decal on the fuselage - then I realised it almost matched the battle damage repair on the photo so I left it.

An RAF Shapeways model of the French Tellier T.3 seaplane. I haven't painted a model in 40 years and it shows. Decals are from 1/144 Direct [Dom's(?)]. I will have to order a custom base from Keith at some point. Unfortunately, the only color profiles I have seen are post-war Portugal and Soviet. Also most photographs I have seen don't show the side very well, so I have no idea if there should be roundels on the hull and/or numbers.
I don't have a gimbal mount so I cannot show off the underside very well.
So how many books are in your personal library?
Very nicely done Robert. Guess I will see it in a few weeks.

Rob, I still have quite a number of resources for Afrikakorps info, so if I can be of any further help, don't hesitate to ask. Looks like two nice books you have received - it's always nice to see photos of vehicles in 'action' rather than so many of the destroyed pics that often fill books on armor and vehicles. I know - sometimes that is the only type of pictures available or easily accessed, but the Ian Baxter book looks like it might have some legitimate 'action' shots...
All the best,
Matt
