Back in the early 60's when petrol was 33p a Gallon (plus quadruple green shield stamps with every sale) Shell Petrol issue a set of silver aluminium coins, one coin per gallon I collected all 16 and put then in the Shell display card (10p), Only to find out last week that Shell kept back four coins, That the rest of Europe had access to so why were we kept in the dark by Shell? what didnt they want us to see?

Odd. Perhaps there was a marketing issue, or import rules they dodged?

I remember the silver set at the top but I do not think the gold set with the extra coins was available in Britain.
