    Good job Sam,

FWIW in 1 the SPAD XIII is Frank Luke's Spad. and 2 is an Albatross DIII of Hauptmann Godwin Brumowski.
Yep I have those models as well as Rickenbacker's Neiuport and one of the Red Barons triplanes

Pilot 3's first name was Jan.

That is a good collection of models, medals and photographs, which you put together for the quiz, Drew.

There was a cheat that I was too impatient to use?

    ...sh*t...

ETA: sure enough, Brumowski's first name comes up as Godwin. Not only that, he was at least minor nobility (von Brumowski).

They are all original apart from the "Blue Max" the WW1 Iron Cross 2nd Class was given to me when I was five years old by my great uncle who fought in the battle of the Somme as a private, the medal came after the battle in a trade for some "Woodbines" cigarettes.
