Default Out of the Office - End September 2019

    All,
I will be out of the 'Magic Shop', better known as the home office until early October.

Drat that it isn't because I'm travelling to Doncaster. However, there are relatives and friends my Better Half and I haven't seen in 11 years. It is way past due, and there is the matter of a Celebration of Life we must attend.

Any last minute things for Doncaster will unfortunately not happen. Sorry for any inconvenience, but I will try to make amends, if necessary/possible, on my return.

Hope you and Donna have a good trip. We will be missing you both at Doncaster.
Hopefully next year will be better!

Banner in front of the church this morning:

    "Celebrating 174 Years of Life"

This was for Donna's Aunt Betty and Uncle Wray. Then, meeting many relatives and family friends we haven't seen for ten years. The cousin adults were easy. However, the children that were 10-14 years old when we left? Wow! Older, married, with children, and they have changed in too many ways. We've been away too long.

Spending a few days trying to catch up? That's not going to be enough.

You could always teach the relatives how to play WoG; then you wouldn't feel like you're missing Doncaster!

In all the years I've known these relatives, they've never indicated any interest in games. We've usually spent our time trying to catch up on our lives.

    I didn't even bring a duel pack!

Next stop, though, my friend Pat has WoG stuff...

So, I didn't get to play WoG in Walkerton, but I did get to see this:

This is a 7/8th scale SE5a, painted up as Capt E. 'Mick' Mannock's plane in 74 Sqn RAF.
(can't montage the photos while away, but more shots when back home).

On our way home, after 13 days and 1300 kms of driving around Southern Ontario.

Lots of people to see, lots of time to catch up, and kids we once knew that are now grown and very different. Cities and towns that have also changed, some a little, some so very much.

First flight out of the airport this morning, heading to Calgary, Alberta:

Note that we are heading West, so as early as this flight is in Hamilton Ontario, we are going through three time zones to get to Vancouver Island.

We will be so happy to get home.
