    Book Title:
    WGFZ: The Escape Artists
    Author:
    Neal Bascomb
    ISBN:
    978-1-473-68681-6
    Category:
    History
    Format:
    Paperback
    Summary:
A good history of a widely unknown subject, RFC escapes in the First World War. It starts with describing the last flight, crash and capture of a 1 1/2 Strutter pilot - Cecil Blain - and his subsequent captivity in Holzminden prison camp. The story then follows his exploits and those of like-minded airmen to escape from the camp. Of those who escaped 19 were recaptured but 10 made 'home runs'.

Fascinating reading on a little-known aspect of WW1.

    Great Gunners.
It may help to make some of our AAR's back story lines a bit more realistic and interesting. It may even lead to a new scenario.
Do you recall the one where Kyte got back through Holland having drunk them out of Genever in the course of his internment?
