Fall In – game 2 – USAS Over the Lines

The USAS DH4s were tasked with bombing targets well behind the German lines. The DH4s were heavily laden with bombs so only carried single machine guns fore and aft. Each DH4 will be escorted with a SPAD XIII.

The Germans start off with Fokker DVIIs but are replaced with SSW DIIIs and Albatros DVas.

The three USAS pilots each had a DH4 and SPAD XIII. L to R, Bob P.(Bobp), Eric and Steve B.

Udet takes the first visible damage. The DH4s are not as harmless as the look.

Goering is the first to kiss the ground. (historically Goering has never survived any of the games I have put him in!)

This was a close battle. The USAS destroyed 3 targets out of 6. USAS had 3 kills. (all by Bob)
    The Germans also downed 3 enemy. (Michael S. 2, John H. 1)

Points were 53 to 49 in favor to the USAS.

Bob had 3 kills for top honors of the USAS
Michael S had 2 kills and honors for the Germans
Mike J won the Bull’s Eye, downed twice and thrice wounded!

    Nicely documented.
I like the round targets - they stand out better on the mat.

It was close. Once I had a game with a 1 point difference. More a draw that a win I'd say.

I used the round objectives from T&T as targets. I like them better than the cards and they stay in place better too, and as you say they stand out better.

Always fun to fly a (Yellow) DVII and even more so on fire! There were lots of laughs and oohs to go around, great fun as always with Pete’s games.
