How on Earth (or maybe Mars) did you come across this, Rob!? It is very cool Lots of great info for setting up terrain on the satellite view...

Actually Matt inspired this with his Cylinder. I was looking for War of the Worlds stuff to try and find out what the consensus was on how the screw end looked and just came across this in the also ran stuff you always find at the bottom of these pages.

Imagine how different and sparse it would have looked on a map of the time !

Nice find Rob. Yes, google (and other search engines) wash up all sorts of odd things you weren't looking for.

If John Carter had not caused all the disturbance the Martians would never have retaliated by invading Earth.

LOVE the John Carter stories! Seminal books from my junior-high years... Perhaps Captain John Carter would be better suited to a US SE5a, Dan? And I have always been a huge fan of maps of all kinds...

    Keep the cool stuff comin'!

    All the best,
    Matt

The John Carter stories are amazing. I still love re-reading them. Great works! Yes, an American SE5a would be better!
