Reaching for the skies - music of the German version

In a moment of nostalgia I watched the intro of the German TV series "Der Griff nach dem Himmel" (CBS/BBC production "Reaching for the skies") and was wondering who is responsible for the music. Unfortunately there is no info in the credits, so I thought the original English version would give me the missing link. How was I surprised when I found out that the original version has a complete different intro and music. Personally I prefer the German intro and music. The original seems kind of semi professional, to me.

I agree that the orchestral version is more in line with the theme of flight. Reaching and lofty.

The title music to the English version is entitled 'The Moment of Triumph' composed by Robert Frederick Howes and Rod Argent (although Wikipedia credits it to Roger Limb of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop and cites the other two as the performers). It may be found on the album 'The Advance of Man' published by KPM Music and can be downloaded from https://www.emipm.com/en/browse/labels/KPM/45

I suppose that it was chosen because it is reminiscent of a tune from 'Top Gun'.

I have no idea about the German music, I am afraid.
