Are the Heavy Raiders up-gunned. I read that they roll two dice or something along those lines?
Thanks,

Thanks,
Heavy Raiders can equip the auto cannons gear card but only the purple transport and the captured heavy Raider come with them, the veteran does not.
When the heavy Raider hits the target, it takes two damage counters instead of one but only takes an additional damage counter if a plus is on both of them.
Can be very powerful
My question is how many of these gear cards can be equipped as the Raptors come with 3 gear cards each.

I wonder why the Veteran doesn't. Does the model look like it has less guns?
[Edit] So the 'Transport' comes with more powerful guns and the Veteran doesn't, right?
The veteran comes with ai 5 veteran pilot and his talents.
The combat transport comes with ai 4 pilot, his talents and the auto cannons gear card.
The captured heavy Raider comes with Boomer, her talents and the auto Cannon gear card.
If you want autocannons on the veteran you will need to purchase one of the other heavy Raiders or proxy for the card but the models are all the same with different paint schemes
Great thanks. I do wonder why they didn't include it with the veteran. Oh well...
Does the captured Heavy Raider come with any cool cards?
The captured heavy Raider comes with Boomer and evasion instead of lethal. It also comes with her Talent cards so this Boomer would work with the unarmed gear card I suppose.
Maybe when the missile rules come out it might be assumed that at least one heavy Raider is going to have missiles anyway. I wonder if that means you can only have one gear card on a ship.
I know what you mean Ken, I struggled with the numbers but if you want the big map (36×72 or 48×96) and the Battlestars you need some raptors and heavy raiders. Don't forget the 2/3 starbuck captured raiders that match the veteran heavy and become the veteran light raiders lol
10vs10 ships is what I'm going to try for!
10v10 would be awesome. I don't know if I'll get quite that big. I was thinking, for me, maybe 4-5 v 4-5. Like 4 Vipers + a Raptor against 4 Raiders + a Heavy Raider. Or maybe a mixture. 2 escorts and 1 Raptor/Heavy Raider against 4 fighters, etc.
Also BSG, like WOG, is best played one player per ship. Even though you can handle more that one, it can get confusing and decks often get mixed.
I played with the veteran at Doncaster so I didn't have the autocannon card. we thought it was a bit weak for what it was, developed a house rule - and then discovered our house rule was identical to the official one
I think I'll put all 10 decks on this deck holder with the 7 light Raiders on the top three rows and the 3 heavy Raider on the bottom row
If I had 1 starter and only played on 36x36 adding 1 starbuck and 1 scar all 3 raptors and 1 purple transport heavy raider might be fine but even 3vs3 might want 3 heavy raiders for variety at some point. Only get the captured heavy if you want the colonials to have the different boomer pilot and the extra boomer talents for the raptors. I have 1 of everything plus 1 starter,1 combat/transport, 1 captured starbuck raider.

Ken this is not a game where you must have the official card to use the piece of equipment. Just make your own autocannon card for your Veteran Heavy Raider.
