First, some show and tell. CrashCraig brought all his flags including the Australian flag which was the basis for our first game of the evening.



Then he brought out his entire collection of flags. We have France, Kingdom of Italy, U.S.A, and Russia on the left stand. The center stand has the Commonwealth; Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand. The third stand features the Ottoman Empire, Imperial Germany, and the Austro-Hungarian Empire.



He is looking to add Belgium, Serbia and Bulgaria. I mentioned Japan was also a possibility and Craig was wondering if should add India and other Commonwealth nations. He may soon have more flags than airplanes. I wonder if the Martians have a flag?

AAR #1 - Late war dogfight. The Germans were on a Snipe hunt. Todd (T), Bob (J) and I (C) flew Australian Snipes, while BalticBob, Jim and CrashCraig flew Fokker D.VIIs.

Here the 'Men At Work' Squadron are meeting in the center of the map while the Germans converge from three different directions. Safety in numbers?



Apparently not. One of the Australians is on fire while everyone else is jockeying for good firing positions.



BalticBob succumbs to too much damage. Those double 4s in his first exchange were tough to shrug off. At least he didn't draw the dreaded bomb card.



Now Todd's Snipe goes down. The 5-4-3 cards were the A cards he drew while on fire. Ouch!



And we have an explosion! The Australians are not faring well.



Here we have two planes that killed each other. I draw my second pilot wounded which is pilot dead.



While Craig suffers from accumulated damage. The Germans won this round.

AAR #2 - Early war dogfight. Bob had to leave so we tried two German Albatros D.IIs (Jim and myself) against a Nieport 11 (Todd) and two Morane-Saulnier Type Ns (BBob and Craig).

Here one of the Moranes is smoking while I streak by him.



Jim and BBob are both on fire. That's not good.



I had noticed that Todd was heading for the edge of the map and trying to sneak back to his lines. I went in pursuit, but didn't keep a close watch on my six. I had accumulated quite a few cards, but zeroes mean nothing. However Craig gave me a 4 and 2 at +1 for each attack. Those brought me down.



After being on fire and not being able to fly straights, Jim's fire went out. So he flew a straight and then an Immelmann turn to get back in the action. Unfortunately he was facing two opponents. Again a mutual kill for Jim and Craig, while BBob shows that his fire damage was a set of zeroes. Sometimes Pele is on your side and sometimes she isn't.



And here is why Todd was heading for home. Nine points of damage on a ten point airplane. The other guys won again.

Just as a matter of interest, I've never noticed that design of damage deck cards before. Do they come as standard over your way?

Those are custom decks I created. I made them after we wanted to use two A damage decks and no one had two decks. My decks have the same numbers and symbol types as regular decks although some people complain when they draw 'bad' cards.
