Council of Five Nations 2019 Raid on Rabaul

I’ve run this one a couple of times before. Always fun to get P-38s and B-25s on the board.

The lightnings blow past the Zeros. The Japanese didn’t time their attack well and turn back too late to catch the Lightnings in the rear. Fi=or some time the only resistance comes from the ground.

Ground fire has done a pretty good job. The zeros finally are getting back into the battle. Down goes the first P-38.

A pair of Zeros get into the B-25 formation. Not a good idea as they both are splashed.

With one turn remaining the US has destroyed enough infrastructure for the victory. Tomorrows heavy bomber mission will face considerably less AA opposition.

Great AAR! What is the map of Rabaul printed on? Paper?

Not fond of cards placed on the map. I was thinking maybe we need transparent cards that have an AA gun in the middle or target marker. That way they do not detract from the great map features underneath. Not sure if there is anything like that in our files section.

HI Gary. Map is vinyl, image from Zoomearth, printed by Vistaprint.

I agree with the cards. I want to make better objective markers, either 3d minis or better color matching cards. Just have to put that project on the front burner.

I did this one in '17. It's somewhere in 'HERE'.

    Maybe a raid on Wewak, P-38s & B-25s vs Ki-43s and Ki-61s?
