Thread: Cling Wrap for masking

    Default Cling Wrap for masking

I just received some Shapeways planes and am considering using Saran Wrap or other cling wrap to mask areas of the model before using spray paint. I have painters tape from Home Depot but it is a little thick and may be difficult to use on a Shapeways model. I thought cling wrap would be able to fit into the nooks and crannies to protect them from the paint.

    Any thoughts?

    Lots of luck!

When I tried it, the only thing cling film would stick to was ME!

I have used "Frisk" Draughtsmans' masking film with some success.

I use Tamiya masking tape for hard edges and rolls of Blu-tak for soft edges.

I just discovered that I have a bottle of this, but I haven't ever tried it.
