Thread: Tuesday night is sea-food night

Default Tuesday night is sea-food night

Last night the regular 4 musketeers (Gary, Doug, Mark and myself) assembled in my dining room for another Martian melee. We used a Squid and a Cuttlefish opposed by two Hanovers as the basis of the scenario.

The Martians had 3 objectives to destroy and the playing area contained two topple-inducing terrain features that the Martians had to avoid.

The end result was that the Martians destroyed all objectives and downed one of the Hanovers with the Hanovers taking out the Squid tripod - all in all a very close and hard fought battle punctuated by the usual jibes and much hilarity.

Here are a selection of photos intercepted from the transmissions streamed back to Mars by the tripods:

Looks like a lot of fun Wayne, the black smoke looks particularly noxious !
The Hannover is quite a handy machine for taking on tripods I would say so a good choice for the game. Looking at the last pic I think you may have missed a trick though as the Boom card only causes 50% damage in this game so your Hannover, with it's impressive stack of 0's, would have survived that last blast of the heat ray. (p.16 TnT rules - Explosion).

We applied the 50% damage to the Martian, but did not do the same for the Hannover. We'll keep on learning!

Nice pics of your game, Wayne - good to see you are flying the flag against the planetary invasion. That Black Smoke does look mighty fine, Dave - I agree with you. The striated surface of it adds to the roiling effect...(looks like Wayne and his 3D printer know no bounds!)

We have found that the late-war two-seaters are good planes to take on tripods, too...

    All the best,
    Matt
