Well the Tank fest that is held in Nokesville, VA is on the 7/8th of Sept. Missed last year because of the rain but looks good for next weekend. Those of you into armor it is well worth seeing what they have running and on display.

Back from the open house. Walked around and the tanks that are usually there, about 50, were all out on display. Spent a little time at the Viet Nam display and brought back a few memories, as always, to see some weapons I haven't touched in years. Well as I was checking out some of the tanks there was an announcement about a new addition that would be rolling out of the garage. So I walked over to that area and when they opened the overhead door I could see the barrel of the tank and knew right away what it was. Here are a few pictures of that tank. Enjoy
That looks great Bob.
Is it a Sherman?
Looks like one with a 76mm gun. The counterweight on the back of the turret looks odd, but maybe postwar?

An Israeli version, I believe, equipped with a French long 75mm gun from the AMX-13...it looks quite business-like! Great pics, Bob
All the best,
Matt
Matt has it right Baz - it's a Sherman M-50 of the IDF - known to us as a Super Sherman. Nice pics Bob.

Dave that is correct. It is also known as an Ishermann. It was like what the Brits did to make the Sherman Firefly. The upgrade was a French 105 gun.
I have to correct myself. The Isherman is the M51. It has a different gun then the M50 Super Sherman. The photo I took is of a M50.
