Fine looking aircraft! May I ask what are you using for your gimbal mount? Interested in knowing more about the plastic piece your airplane's peg fits into. Purchased or homemade? Thanks in advance.
Hi Andrew,
The magnets for the gimbal mount I bought from the Aerodrome store:
https://www.aerodromeaccessories.com.../gimbal-mounts
Some people cut off the peg on the airplane and glue the ball bearing in place of the peg. There are a number of ways people use the gimbal mounts:

Instead I glue a ball magnet to a Litko peg topper as this allows me to keep the peg on the airplane. The Litko peg toppers are designed to allow WoW/WoG planes to fit on their flight stands:

There's a post on using the gimbal mounts with Litko peg toppers. The photos have been deleted so they don't show up on the post but there's a Word file with pictures you can download.

Litko toppers shift the centre of gravity so heavier planes will tend to dip. You can do two things about that - (1) rough up the ball bearing so there's more friction and (2) glue larger ball bearings and glue to Likto toppers - especially for the heavier planes. I got a couple of larger size ball bearings from Bearings Canada (note that they come in 100 to a package!) and extra Litko toppers. I haven't got around to it yet but I'll make up a dozen or so of each size which should be more than enough.
Hi Paul,
Many thanks for the info. Similarly I've been using the 'leave the plane peg alone' technique as well, I didn't like the look of a ball bearing hanging off of the bottom of the aircraft - it seemed too out of place for my liking.
I've been using Green Stuff World rotation magnets as I find their cylinder base magnet is great fit with the standard pegs compared to some others - just drill them out a little, but I was curious about the Litko piece - I'd not seen them before - and it looked like it gave your models additional support and balance, which is especially helpful with the bombers.
Thanks again for the tip, I'll pick some up and try them out.
Cheers!
Lovely Albatri!
REP gun fired!
I laugh in the face of danger - then I hide until it goes away!
Thanks, Tim. Would have replied by PM but your letter box is jammed.
Thanks for the additional references. Great shots as always!
