Default The Wright Flight takes to the skies once again!

This coming Saturday is the second Saturday in August, and that means the Wright Flight is heading skyward again to tangle among the clouds

The doors to Epic Loot in Centerville, Ohio, open at 11AM, and we are always there waiting. Looks like Nieuport 28s and DH4s against suitable late-war Germans. And we plan to squeeze in a game using Tripods, too It's sure to be lots of fun, and our pal Esa from Australia will be joining us, too!

Stop by if you are in the area and of a mind to play...

    All the best,
    Matt

Esa has brought some planes to trade. If you have any to trade bring them along.

Do you happen to know what he might be looking for and what he brought to trade? I am personally looking for a Fokker E. III (Hautzmayer).

    Esa,

My tripods kickstarter came with some Albatros that I already have. I can bring those if you want to look at them. I might have an extra Richthofen Dr.I, I will have to look. I have a well loved and well used Elwood Wings of War Camel I got at a garage sale. Paint and decals show some wear. I'll bring that as well. You can have it if you want.

Good gaming session today at Epic Loot! We had eight folks show up to play and a couple of folks wander by. After we had done some wheeling and dealing with Esa - he was trading WoG WW2 for WoG WW1 planes - we got to work plaing our first game. Four American DH4s on a recon flight to photograph German guns. Four
Jasta 6 Fokker Ev/DVIIIs were the interceptors. We fought the long way on the map, with the DH4s reaching and photographing their targets. The Germans managed to eventually shoot three of them down, but one made it off the end of the board to return home with the photographs. We were reminded how tough the American DH4s with A guns front and rear were...

Our second game was our initial Tripods and Triplanes game - a MkII Scarab and MkIV Cuttlefish against 5 planes (pilot's choice). Here are two random pictures of the action. I am posting a few more under the T&T thread for a fuller report. The Allies managed to eventually gun down the Scarab, thanks to some lucky hits and a boom card - the tripods are pretty tough, but their management can be tricky due to energy expenditure and plotting requirements. Everyone seemed to enjoy playing with them, though, and we agreed we will have them as part of our regular rotation in future.

Good to see that some of you have at least got your Tripes into action. Very nice pictures too Jim.
