    Summary:
This is the first book in a trilogy of the adventures, trials, tribulations & triumphs of young ****en Quinney from joining the RFC in 1916 through his time on the Western Front flying BE 2's & Sopwith 1 1/2 strutters through to his action on the Italian front flying Bristol Fighters & Sopwith Camels. The next two titles are "The Challenging Heights" which continues his story in 1919 flying in Russia & then the middle East & then "Once more the Hawks" which takes him to between the Wars into WW 2.
Along the way he meets Ernest Udet in America, Goring & Udet again in Germany along with Sydney Cotton & other notable people. Excellent flying action told by someone who really knew his subject. You will recognise certain actual events altered to fit the story. I really enjoyed this series of books. He has also authored anothe WW1 series that I have yet to read. 5 STARS.
I read these via Amazon Aust Kindle downloaded to my Tablet.
