Default A Day At the Stick !

Today I spent the day with Rob (Rabscallion) at his 'drome for a day of Wings !
Having missed Bovi last weekend he was keen to get in the air and I was happy to oblige..

We started with a two on two scout skirmish between a Nieuport 11, DH.2 combo and a pair of Alb D.III as a warm up - The allies were victorious but I neglected to get any pics.
I then broke out my latest Ca3 acquisition to be blooded and it did not let me down - we put it on auto and both of us attacked it with Phoenix D.Is...

    First exchanges & we're both smoking !

    Lotta Booms, Dave.
Were the decks stacked against you?

Is that first Ca-3 a repaint of a La Guardia?
I don’t recall seeing that particular camo before.

    Thumbs up

What a super way to fill in a day Dave.
All the games looked like great fun & what more do you want than Fire & Booms to liven up the action.

No that's a die-cast model Pete - 1:144 Ca.3 Regia Aeronautica 1 Squadriglia, Italy (depending which ad you see).
Quite hefty compared to the Ares model but looks the part. I have yet to squeeze crew into the Italian jobs.

Thanks for sharing the pictures of your games.
We played a similar game to your first one - two Phonix vs a Caproni Ca.3. In ours the Caproni won hands down.

    Default Another Outing At Rob's

Rob very kindly hosted me for another day at the stick.
We started with a go at Tripods n Triplanes - both never having piloted a Martian before we thought we should both have a go at it so we played the first scenario a couple of times. Sadly it required a lot of concentration and i totally forgot to take any pics of the action. I managed to get a a pic of the beast and escape the first time but not the second. As a Martian I smoked & toasted Rob's N.16 but not before he'd scored a few solid hits. Requires a bit of work and more practice but a good game system if not exactly our cup of tea.

We had a break and then had a go at a bomber - I used the Klein Pfalz D.III & Rob had a go at his latest acquisition, Weber's Albatros D.Va.
As you can see his first time out, first shot taken could have gone a lot better !

I managed to latch on and drag the beast down as it reached the target. Boom card (half points) really helped me out.

House games, FLGS games, tournament games at conventions...there's all good. Those boom cards, though...
Well, the bad news is, they can put and end to any game quickly.
The good news is, that leave plenty of time for another game!
