Thread: Well Done England!

    Default Well Done England!

Congrats to the England cricket team, winning their first Cricket World Cup trophy yesterday at Lords!

The most bonkers game of cricket I have ever seen; New Zealand deserved to win, and would have edged it but for the most outrageous bad luck (for them) and good luck (for England).
I have never shouted at my telly so much in one day..................
Had to go for a lie down afterwards!

Both teams were magnificent, hard luck on our Kiwi cousins, if chance had reversed the result they would be equally deserved winners.
Well done all & congrats to the England team for pulling that result out of the bag !

I know exactly how you feel Tim. I was convinced that we were throwing it away but somehow we came good in the end. A glorious game and so sorry for the Kiwis who deserved to win as well. Should have been declared a draw and I for one would have been quite happy to be joint world cup holders!

The Gods smiled on the England team without a doubt.

Was a really strange and great game of cricket, more so when today I read another umpire has said the two at the game got it wrong and NZ should have won.
But we got it and as like Tim I have never shouted so much at my tv over a cricket match.

    Thumbs up

Congratulations to the English Cricket Team.
Mr Kyte will be celebrating in fine style.
The Kiwis were a mite unlucky but all praise to the Victors.

Despite the potential 'other' outcome - congrats to the English.

There is an atmosphere of pride over here at what 'our' boys accomplished.
There's also an atmosphere of acceptance, that for wont of another outcome earlier in the series,
we made it to the finals by a similar stroke of the rules...

Needless to say - we're exceptionally peeved. I shall be flying the Germans for some while yet!!

    Cheers one & all.
Now we're hanging out for the results of the Netball World cup - on now... & the rugby World cup later this year.
