Thread: Gaming Mats How to Store?

Default Gaming Mats How to Store?

I found a wonderful mat from Deep Cut Studios. My friends play Blood Red Skies and I saw a demo game and it didn't really impress me. But they were using this map (pic below) and that really impressed me. I bought the 4x6 version. I ordered it without the case and sadly, they already shipped. Shipping of the case alone would be astronomical shipping prices. Does anyone have good ways to store a 4x6 mat or know of a play that sells them (in the US preferably). Thank you so much! Eric,

I use a soft side "On-Stage microphone stand case SSB6500", that I picked up from Amazon for $32. It works well, holds multiple mats and does not pack them so tight that they stayed curled at the ends.

    Hope this helps,

    John

A cardboard tube? You can get 25 (50 x 890 mm) for 37€ at amazon.

The elves found a 4' length of thin wall 4" o.d. PVC pipe and two end caps for $10 at Home Depot . . . drill a small vent hole in the tube to aid in opening. Holds 6 mats at once.

I use artist storage tubes. I've bought some from Blick, others off of Amazon. Plastic, extending, very protective.

I have bought a couple of their 6 by 4 mats in cloth, and I leave them on the table. Put the one I want to use on top. Keeps them uncreased.

I have been using one of these for years and it works very well. It also stores well itself.

Great! Which one would fit the 4x6 mat? I assume the $46 one?

I have one of these for the Wings of War mats I got from a former Forum member:
www.amazon.com - Black Telescoping Drafting Tube
They have to be available somewhere, local to you.
