Here are my latest Valom models - Werner Steinhauser (Jasta 11) and Rudolf Klimke (Jasta 27). I used a mix of valom (crosses) and homemade decals (anchors, etc.). From what I could deduce from internet, Steinhauser had an early paint version with the red band and yellow cross and a later version with the colours reversed. I preferred the yellow cross on red - with the tail in a reverse colours. I found a photo of the early version (red in mid-grey and yellow in dark grey for the fuselage band) doesn't show enough of the tail clearly but it could have been red with narrow yellow stripes.
This completes my set of Valom Fokker Dr.1 - here's the lot with Lothar von Richthofen (yellow wing), Hans Weiss (white wing), August Raben (red wing) and Josef Carl Peter Jacobs (black)
