Yup. Awesome. Would work on a low-light table best, not so much in a bright Convention hall. But, still...

It is wonderful! Kind of a cross between the Ares tripod and the 'floating' version from the 1956 WotW movie - love it

    Great find, Dave!

    Ho!, ho!, ho!
This morning I got a message from DPD service that a parcel from:

    Ares Games Srl
    Hauptstrasse 105
    89343, Jettingen-Scheppach, DE

has been dispatched to my place.
Hope to see the Martians around here tomorrow.
Don't you think the delivery has something to do with the August Perseids' nights?

The latest message from Roberto at Ares Games:

    People of the Earth!

We just sent to about 90% of the European backers their tracking number. The list we received this morning from our warehouse in Germany included all the shipments they sent out or prepared for shipping between Friday 9th and August 12th. In fact, some of you might already be receiving your rewards now!

We expect the warehouse to complete the remaining 10% of the shipments very soon, and we should be able to send the tracking number to the remaining backers - most likely, tomorrow.

If you did not get a tracking number yet - before thinking you are in that last 10%, check your Junk/Spam folder. Even if we use a reliable mass-mailing service, this is always a possibility, when doing a mass-mailing to hundreds of people.

We hope you all will be able to enjoy your rewards very soon!

Thanks for your support and patience,

    Roberto/Ares

I must confess I am totally taken aback and in love with the design of the machines and quality of the figures themselves. Very steampunky and sooo Victorian. Moreover the Locust is kind of...Egyptian in style as well...
Now have to check the rules and prepare the first encounter...Tomorrow we have a holiday so I think the coming Friday may be the M-Day!

I PM’d Keith today and he said that acrylic replacement bits are on the cards once he has his mitts on the starter set. I’ve suggested the death ray and smoke rulers, the smoke templates and counters for the Martians. Anyone think of anything else?

All of the above are definitely needed in acryl. Nothing else comes to mind...

I know Keith has done his sets of ACE counters for WW2 planes, where he has a 'set' of all the counters one would need per plane to indicate speed, etc...

Perhaps a Martian set would work, with recovery counters and the other Martian-specific counters a tripod would need to wreak havoc upon Earthlings? I wonder if he could produce the black smoke range stick and cloud template in a smoke/translucent plastic... That would look pretty cool...

    All the best,
    Matt

YES! Translucent markers would definitely enhance the visual aspect of the game.

    Roberto's latest message:

    People of the Earth!

Is with great joy and relief that today we can officially announce that the fulfillment of the TRIPODS & TRIPLANES is completed.

All the parcels are now on their way out of the German warehouse and we sent out individually to each of you your tracking number.

The last parcels are picked up today by the couriers in Germany (DPD or DHL, depending on the destination): if you did not already get your rewards, this is due to happen very, very soon.

Starting next Monday, we will start handling all the customer care requests we are receiving (fortunately, not too many) - any error in packaging, missing or broken pieces, or any other issue you may have with your rewards, let us know! Please send us a KS message or an email to customercare[at]aresgames.eu with your request.

It has been a long, long journey. There's no way I can thank you enough for the incredible amount of patience you had in continuing to support us and wait for your rewards.

I really hope that you will find what you now have in your hand is worth the wait, and that you will see with your eyes that our long fight to achieve a high level of quality was real, and that what I wrote in these updates were not empty words or lame excuses.

Now, it's time to get those Martian invaders to your gaming table and find out yourself if the Peoples of the Earth, united, can stand against the merciless waves of Tripods, fighting gallantly from the air as true Knights of the Sky!

Again, thanks for your support and your patience,

    Roberto/Ares

The day before yesterday my T&T box arrived in The Hague
Good old Cats Eyes (aka Lex) picked it up for me and delivered it to my home...

But, alas i'm not in The Hague but in Germany till August 24th ...
So, I'll just have to keep looking at the picture of the box whilst Lex already has unpacked his box

    cheers,

I have finished sorting out all the goodies I got yesterday in the big box.
Apart from the 6 planes which were placed elswhere on the shelf, I managed to store all 8 tripods (without paper boxes, but in plastic bubbles) and their decks in the bigger yellow box.
The rest (doubled rulers, tokens, doubled damage decks, WGS stuff, rulebooks, paper map, leaflets etc.) is palced in the smaller starter box. Of course the plastic insert is thrown away at the very start.
This way the complete invasion is compacted to a storable form.

Yay - the Martians et al have landed. MkII Scarab had a broken neck, obviously from in fighting on the long journey from Mars, but is recovering in whatever the Martians call the sick bay. Repairs are under way

    Received my Martian pledge yesterday.
I was surprised how big the delivery box was but once unpacked I found the 'printed' elements of the Martian stretch goals (Solo rules/templates) and some of the Invasion goals such as Map and WW2 counters had been put into an Invasion box which more than doubled the capacity. I have since put everything inside the standard game box and been left with a big empty yellow box. I guess I can use it to store some of my other Glory stuff or more foolishly for my pocket add further T&T stuff from retail if it becomes widely available.
